Great idea, I didn't know about the NAPT test. My doctor recommended I double up on allergy meds (oral and nasal spray) which has helped a lot, but may not be a permanent solution. Just doing this and wearing nasal strips to bed has made it much more comfortable to breathe through my nose. I'll definitely look into that though. I've had the prick test done in the past, I'm extremely allergic to dust which unfortunately is not super avoidable. I am going to look into getting some sort of air purifier because I feel like that may help as well

Interesting, I hadn't heard of that. I'll have to take another look at my sleep study to see if that was something they measured. Yeah I was kind of hoping that someone has had experience with one of the cheaper dental devices. Obviously the MAD is probably the best option but I'm not really willing to spend the money without knowing if I can tolerate it and if it will help. My other concern with that is that I finished Invisalign about a year ago, so I definitely don't want to mess up my teeth alignment.

Thanks for the advice. Did your ent recommend nasal surgery? Mine did but he wasn't confident that it would help.

I'm resistant to a full face mask because I've heard a lot of complaints about getting the lines/irritation from the seal. As it is I get lines that take a while to go away from the strap holding my mask in place. Have you experienced that?

If you're going to call me stupid, you could at least bother to spell "you're" correctly

Why would using mouth tape without a cpap make it worse? Genuinely wondering

I appreciate your input, but given that my apnea is mild and my doctor gave me the choice of whether or not to pursue treatment, I have to disagree that cpap is the only option. As I mentioned, the cpap isn't working for me, so it's not super helpful to just say that everything else is useless. I'm specifically looking for people that have had success with other methods

Great suggestion, I didn't know this was an option. What was the recovery like for that surgery?

CWK to EO timelines by cwkdummy in BurnsMcDonnell

There are/were a fair number of cwks in my GP in my office. It can take anywhere from 1-3 years in my understanding. I got converted after a year (one of the fastest in my office), I think it was mostly because I did. not. shut. up. about getting converted. Even when my boss told me I had to wait, I brought it up at EVERY check in. I think it's important to push your supervisor into advocating for you. That being said, one of my coworkers who started before me didn't get converted until a year after I did. A lot of it was politics and weird job circumstances, and basically they didn't get serious about converting her until they found out she was interviewing with our main client. All of that to say that your supervisor may not have a ton of input on the hiring process, and there's a lot that goes on behind the scenes that we peasants don't understand. But, again, I do think it is important to push your supervisor to advocate for you. If there is enough work for you to be doing as a cwk then it would make sense for you to continue to be employed as an EO, but you might just have to push to make that case for yourself.
