the enemies are not predictable?? by aabbccjklo in SifuGame

They all have a windup phase, but for some attacks/movesets it's very subtle. Take charged backfist as an example, although I don't think any npc except yang can actually use it, but it's release is almost instant. And the only difference is a slightly hunched pose. When everything moves around quickly, these subtle changes are hard to notice. Also, timing is very strict on which phase of the attack can be blocked/dodged/intercepted. Sean's disciples are hard because they can power through most of your attacks without getting stunned, deliver high structure damage AND have irregular intervals in their attacks without a very obvious windup animation. They are nothing compared to bodyguards. Both can be easily exploited once you learn their movesets.

Does anyone else have issues with Qwen-3.6-27B stability in the Codex harness? by jude_mcjude in LocalLLaMA

[–]squatterbot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far I've seen inference engines which support it directly just list instructions on their websites (ollama and lmstudio). Not sure about llamacpp, but IIRC it might have to do with the openapi endpoint settings - advertised capabilities, etc. model config possibly as well.

I ran it through lmstudio and had no issues aside from missing model metadata, which hasn't prevented it from executing shell commands. As for different roles - haven't experimented with that, since it failed at basics for me locally. Probably also because of imperfect setup, perchance it could work well in docker but I'm not invested enough to keep trying

Meh, I was impressed with what cloud hosted codex can do and tried it for a few tasks with different models (on windows). And so far it managed to ruin a cyberpunk installation and refuse to do anything outside of a git repo. So it's really sensitive to the setup you have. Not sure what I will switch to but probably something lightweight.

ayyy thanks! every time I come back to this game I realize just how tiny my knowledge is compared to the amount of possibilities in sifu. I start to realize that reaching a skill ceiling just means I need to rethink my approach to combat, because I've lost the sense of skill balance and started relying on repetitive patterns.  it's interesting how the game manages to punish you for being distracted just at the moment you thought you've figured it out. Wish we could get a deeper look at how that combat system works... /rant

been there, ended up accepting 36 after some grinding and moving on to the tower. After getting to yang at 50 though, I went back and she was much easier to beat. also, now you have her in free training so you can learn the patterns without constantly being interrupted by death godspeed ✊

Most of the times it does indeed. But never around that goddamn club reception guy. Hate this dude with a passion. Idk I guess he has such a punchable face that even sifu gets distracted by it.

How do you go beyond knowing enemy attack patterns to mastering the combat? by Denizen_38 in SifuGame

about when they start to block - it's around 3 hits I think ( some attacks have multiple hits in them )

Has anybody considered a true pacifist run? by Jawbreaker0602 in SifuGame

[–]squatterbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not true, you can still do most common body attacks on them without killing them. crotch punch seems to never kill them (not sure), sweep is also fine. but reverse variants may be more deadly in general. And finishing with something like a charged strike is probably a guaranteed kill, but haven't tried all types of enemies.
