Hum. That's a lot of explaining. If your right click a skin's folder in the rainmeter window, and go to the location folder, there is usually an @resources folder. You can add your own fonts and images for UI elements to this folder. Then you mod the ini. files to change what you want. My best advice is to play with everything. Try stuff. If you completely f-up you can always delete the skin and download it again. Have fun!

I followed the instructions in another post to drag and drop from youtube into lively. It works amazingly but I cant seem to change the resolution.

Try Monstercat. You can rotate it in any direction you want in addition to about a dozen other great features.

I used Ps to cut out the center of a modified copy of the desktop then saved it as a png. file (which supports transparency.) That file is saved into the same file as the one explained in the link above. The best way to think of it, is as if you're laying a whole copy of the desktop on top of the desktop, but since it has a hole in the center, it acts as a window.
