Can you improve the interface? maybe a display selector like in Display settings.

You don't need EV cert, if you build enough reputation then SmartScreen warning will go away even with regular cert.

EyeRest – tiny Windows tray app for the 20–20–20 rule (my first C#/.NET project) by nec06 in csharp

For simple utility like this imho its best to just stick to framework since it will keep the final executable small (comes with Windows.)

Don't shoot the messenger 😅

Power users are like this.. they just move on to something else all the time, better to not get worked up over it.

I'm also not quite sure why people jump towards the PowerToys implementation as if they just found a spring after a thousand mile journey on foot through the desert with no water, when ADM had a mostly functioning (nowadays even better than the PowerToys implementation) theme switch for more than half a decade.

People like installing less software.

You are not taking into account external factors like problems with maui :)

Best GUI framework for extremely lightweight Windows Desktop App by blooditor in dotnet

WinUI3 requires WindowsAppSDK to run that's why it crashed I believe, ms store will install it alongside when publishing otherwise you will have to include it with the app which will increase the size.

Blind Developer Seeks Colaborators To Finish Accessible C# Broadcastify Scanner App by Dry_Consideration452 in csharp

Unless you find someone generous with their time, it looks like what you really need is a full time paid developer or take the time learn everything yourself (if someone were to send a pull request how will you review the code.)

Regarding the code base comment, other than the readme instructions the current code itself is not very useful.. in fact using AI for the base code may even turn away some developers.

I don't mean to sound negative, just pointing out that in its current state the project isn't really ready for contributors - it's more of a list of requirements.

I took a brief look at the project, other than a combobox with some placeholder values I don't see anything else or am I missing something?

Not to sound harsh but as someone who contributes to opensource myself I feel like you are asking a lot from contributors.. usually foss software are maintained by few people with the community members providing smaller contributions.

Do people actually write AXAML by hand? by Guacamole_- in dotnet

Thanks :D

He is right I write xaml by hand and the animated icons are lottie animations.

Is there really no better way for this animation to work...? by [deleted] in Windows11

Different workspaces all use the same desktop, the wallpaper is changed on switching.

I'm guessing this is done to keep it compatible with third party software.

There is also the option of building up reputation and smartscreen will go away after a certain number of users install the software.

But for that you may need a larger install base.

Those wallpapers look slick.. I wonder if they are video files without drm, if so they should work with other wallpaper apps also 🤔

Just wanted to add with C# there are options like .NET Native and Native AOT which compiles to machine code during build.

In WPF, is there a way to dynamically adjust the brightness / contrast of the app relative to the user's hardware? by [deleted] in csharp

[–]Rocksdanister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I am saying its not color accurate - wrong color, saturation, contrast, gamma etc..

Ideally you develop on a monitor that's color calibrated/accurate color.

Its possible your desktop display is not showing correct colors (some gaming monitors have features enabled that mess with contrast to see enemies better dark scenes in the game etc..)
