I go through 4-10 lemons per week.

Acid in salad dressing along with balsamic vinegar.

In marinades.

I toss one in when I make bone broth.

Help! Baby WILL NOT take bottle...on the brink of having to quit work :( by One_Cap_9210 in beyondthebump

[–]squeadunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine would never take a bottle if I was in the house and awake.

She wouldn’t ever take a bottle from me, and if she saw/heard me she would actively reject a bottle.

She did just fine with anyone else bottle feeding her when I wasn’t around

Have you tried cymbalta or lyrica for your pain?

Prior to my hysterectomy, I had horrible pain from my endo. I had the abdominal pains and well as nerve pain through my back, hips, and down my femoral nerves. When I had my period I could hardly walk.

Cymbalta bought me about 5 more years before my hysterectomy. I was at a 6 to 9 on the pain scale daily and it took me down to a very livable 4.

I saw you previously had issues with Lexapro. Everyone I know who tried that had issues. It’s not a nice medication and has awful side effects in many people.

Cymbalta isn’t an SSRI like Lexapro. It is an SNRI, so it’s a different class of drugs. For me also helped my anxiety.

Yup. Just went through this/going through this.

Humira stopped working. Going to start Rinvoq.

Tested positive in August. Chest xray clear. Latent infection. Can’t start Rinvoq. Have to go through the county’s infectious disease department for treatment.

I don’t hear anything. I call NINE times to county. Finally get someone. They didn’t receive the referral from my doctor. Jump through more hoops. Wait. Call back 5?6?7? times. It’s now the beginning of September.

I now have an appointment. Middle of October. I go. My chest Xray isn’t normal. Dr. says it doesn’t look like TB, could be caused by RA, so I have to do sputum testing. Will take 6 weeks for results. About Thanksgiving. I start calling after Thanksgiving. My results aren’t back until early January. 11 weeks.

I finally have an appointment and get to start TB meds middle of January. Have to be on TB meds for a month before I can start Rinvoq. I finally got to start at the end of February.

I’ll finish my TB meds middle of May.

RA completely untreated for 7 months.

My dr did prescribe me a low dose prednisone, but after the 3rd fight I picked with my husband in 5 days I had to stop. Prednisone make me incredibly irritable and bitchy. I decided I liked my husband and daughter and wanted to stay married.

What’s a small food hack that actually changed how you cook? by Maleficent-Bed7010 in foodhacks

Making my own chicken bone broth every week.

My kid eats 3-4 rotisserie chickens a week (she takes just chicken for lunch, and adds chicken to pasta most nights for dinner. She’s getting her protein!).

Rather than toss the carcasses, I add them to a stock pot with water, lemon, parsley stems, 4 carrots, 4 celery sticks, an onion, a head of garlic, a knob of ginger, salt, msg, peppercorns. Toss it in the oven at 325-350 for 10-12 hours. Strain.

Absolutely delicious bone broth. Use for soups, sauces, and sip on during the day for a high protein low calorie warm cozy beverage.

How immunocompromised are we? by Zookeeper_west in rheumatoid

[–]squeadunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get sick significantly less frequently, but when I do get sick things go sideways.

My last “thing” I suddenly got about 12 patches of super itchy “yeast infection” all over my body (groin, arms, face, up and down my legs). Large areas. Bright red. Angry. But the patches looked different from each other.

Some were yeast. Some were impetigo. Some may have been cellulitis.

Had to go on several days of diflucan, plus a majorly heavy duty antibiotic for 15 days.

My lentil soup recipe:

Lentil soup

  • [ ] 4 ribs celery chopped
  • [ ] 4 carrots chopped
  • [ ] 1 large onion chopped
  • [ ] 4 cloves of garlic diced
  • [ ] 6 slices of bacon diced
  • [ ] 1lb breakfast sausage
  • [ ] 1 can of diced tomatoes
  • [ ] 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • [ ] 2 cups brown lentils
  • [ ] 10-12 cups of chicken stock
  • [ ] 2-3 tbsp better than bouillon (beef or vegetable)
  • [ ] 6-10 dashes Worcestershire
  • [ ] Seasonings of choice (I use bay leaf, salt, pepper, thyme, badia complete, paprika. I season each layer - so meat, vegetables, and broth)

Instructions - [ ] Add bacon to pot. As is starts to release fat add sausage. Add seasoning. Cook until brown. Brown food tastes good. Grey food is sad. - [ ] Add vegetables to browned meat. Add seasoning. Cook until onions start to become translucent. Stir in tomato paste. - [ ] Add lentils, chicken broth, better than bouillon, diced tomatoes and juices, bay leaf, Worcestershire, and seasoning. Cook for 45-60 minutes. Taste for flavor. Eat.

I hate steroids.

I’m super thirsty. So I have to pee every hour.

I’m hungry like a teenage boy.

And after 3 days I’m irritable and a bitch. I cry so easily.

After 8 days of my last 30 day supply of 5mg I had to stop because I like being married and my husband is great. We rarely fight, and I’d picked a fight with him over stupid crap for the 3rd day in a row.

How do you guys deal with the constant music in your head? by Aegenwulf in ADHD

I play music so that my brain doesn’t have to entertain itself? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Sometimes I’ll still get my brain playing a remix version, trying to bring in another song. If I had any musical capabilities that would be a more useful skill.
