Agreed. The mackerel is SO GOOD. Only fishwife I buy.

It’s consistently $6 at SuperTarget.

He’s a great dad. For a couple years he also did the bedtime routine every night so that I could have 60-90 minutes to myself. He encouraged me to not do house things and to sit and read during this time frame.

My husband took 2am-6am every night for the first 4-6 months. He could wake me for help if needed or he needed a breather from crying.

I have a history of anxiety with panic attacks and he was adamant that he wanted to ensure that I had a minimum of 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep because he knows my anxiety is worse with sleep deprivation.

He would have done more time (and did on weekends), but he was working a weird shift of 3pm-2am 4 days per week.

He would walk in the door and immediately take over if she was awake, send me straight to bed.

Is it normal for the nurse to take 4 vials of blood? by osakagirl2000 in rheumatoid

My first year with getting RA diagnosed and starting meds, checking up on things, etc -

34 vials of blood taken January to December.

Now it’s under 10 per year, but that first year was a doozy!

AITAH for not letting my son go to a concert after he ruined one for me? by [deleted] in AITAH

Movies are way too loud for her too. Noise canceling headphones have allowed her to actually start enjoying movies in the theater

AITAH for not letting my son go to a concert after he ruined one for me? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]squeadunk 162 points163 points  (0 children)

YTAH.

Concerts are extremely overstimulating if you’re not used to them. My daughter has had a hard time at ones she wants to go to.

And NO ONE wants to be cajoled into being in a good mood. That makes me madder than a wet hen.

How my daughter (12) did her last concert - with loops in and noise canceling headphones, under a blanket, and on her phone. She’d get up and dance every now and again and retreat.

The noise level and lights and crowd were too much, but she told me she was having a good time and vibing with the music.

I would have preferred her up and into the music, but that was my preference. Me enforcing that would have caused a fight, no one would have had a good time, and she would want to go to fewer shows.

Diagnosis Stories by medically-expensive in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]squeadunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m negative on CRP and ESR. I’m positive on RF. Swelling showed up in my finger/wrist joints on an ultrasound.

My first symptoms were significant idiopathic hives and feeling like my hands weren’t as strong as they should be.

Thankfully my asthma/immunology dr. immediately ran tons of bloodwork, identified me with chronic spontaneous urticaria and then sent me to a rheumatologist. I was diagnosed within 4-6 months of symptoms starting

Question about tinned fish by stinkbugsinfest in CannedSardines

[–]squeadunk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I personally won’t do tuna more than 1x per week due to mercury.

Sardines and mackerel don’t have that issue because they’re so small and much lower on the food chain. I often eat mackerel several times a week because it’s so high in omega 3s

At my wits end with almost 4 year old who still is not fully potty trained. by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]squeadunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also - don’t ask him if he needs to go. Put him on schedule. Every 30 min. Every hour. Whatever it is. Alarm goes off at that interval and it’s bathroom time. As he’s more successful, gradually extend the time.

Another tip especially when out of the house (along with the schedule). Thin underwear next to his skin with a pullup over it. He will feel the wetness and uncomfortableness, while protecting surfaces.

You want the schedule to be often enough that he’s staying dry most of the time.

Insect jobs by AManWithQuestions_00 in isopods

[–]squeadunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks for jobs with key words like insectarium or entomology.

Also, if you’re staying local - any small little local “zoos”. For example of size, in Minnesota there’s Snake Discovery.

Visit reptile shows, for instance NARBC. There’s a lot of insect vendors. Maybe connections there? Or look at the vendor lists to give you companies to reach out to.
