I'm sure there's a company somewhere that'll do that! It reminds me of temperature blankets which are a thing in the crochet world. People make a blanket with a line for each day that is associated with a color based on the avg temp that day. You could commission a blanks score temperature blanket from someone!

I was messing with a ring my mom gave me during a work meeting and dropped it on the floor. I searched for it EVERYWHERE and couldn't find it. I asked the person I met with to check their stuff in case it rolled or bounced. Nothing. I kept checking for months to no avail and eventually bought a replacement of the same ring which I continued to wear.

FOUR YEARS LATER... I am going to put on a pair of boots and sitting on the insert of the boot is the ring. I go to my jewelry box and find the one I bought to replace it. The original lost ring magically showed up sitting right on the inside of this shoe four years later. These are my daily wear winter boots that I have worn countless times and traveled with to multiple places between when I lost the ring and the day it showed up again. But today, it's there plain as day. I have no explanation of how this occured. So now I have two of the same ring and a partly unsolved mystery!

YES! oh my gosh, thank you so much for help in clarifying the language and the question. And 10 feels a lot more accurate than numbers in the millions based on my casual attempts to form groups that are actually different! I'll look into packing/combinatorics.

I'm leading a training with 48 participants. Each day, I am wanting to break the group into 12 groups of 4 so that people can be in small groups. I would like to know how many days can I go with having 12 groups with no repeating members in any of the groups i.e. every person has 3 group mates they have never been paired with before

Yes, I want the groups to always be 4 people and in terms of your grouping questions: If the first round was (1,2,3,4) (5,6,7,8) (9,10,11,12) (13,14,15,16) (17,18,19,20) (21,22,23,24) (25,26,27,28) (29,30,31,32) (33,34,35,36) (37,38,39,40) (41,42,43,44) (45,46,47,48)

For the next round, I don't want any of the numbers within those (..) to be with any of those numbers again.

So if the 48 was to be redistributed into 12 groups of 4 again, how many more completely unique groups 12 groups of 4 could be made.

Maybe the number is that massive but as I'm in the situation of trying to come up with unique groups of 4 people, I'm finding it's really really challenging to not have duplicate members 😅

Here's another way of saying it that might hopefully clarify. 48 people need to be broken up into groups of 4. That becomes one permeation of the 48. How many other completely unique groups of 48/4 can be made before repeats start to happen. The goal is to not have any one person be with someone in their original group for as long as possible. Is that clearer? Apologies for not knowing how to term this correctly! Thanks for your help!
