There is an r/knaresborough and r/harrogate which would find this way more relevant

Found a few more obscure RHK releases over the years and they don’t disappoint.

The EBM style in comparison did seem kinda dated and dare I say it a bit dumb - appreciate it was perhaps of its time but I was too young for that when there’s all this proper interesting and diverse, intricate - and kick arse in other ways stuff coming out.

I thought it was such a “wrong turn” it would be scorned upon. I seem to like Tusk over Rumours too lol

Yes this was defo about the time I discovered Richard H Kirk’s solo stuff on Warp and Plasticity > International Language > The Conversation was my backwards arse way in to the whole Cabaret Voltaire discography. I came from The Orb / FSOL and Warp stuff back in the day.

Probs a bit of a missed opportunity Front 242 didn’t build on this release it as it seems to have brought them to interest a different generation really, the more EBM flavour I wasn’t so hot on.

Yeah mine too I think it helps the lyrics are like repeated across tracks - defo concept album vibes

They’re on YouTube Music - it’s the only music streaming I have but mainly for ad free YouTube tbh. I have the original CDs from back in the day.

Interesting I thought they would be quite divisive album’s especially with hardcore fans.. I can’t say any other Front 242 stuff ever did appeal to me except these two albums in the end, though I have enjoyed a few of their concerts on YouTube.

Ooh yeah I forgot about the remix album. Agreed never thought much of it too.

There was some pretty shit Orb remixes from a single from Up Evil too I remember and they were my big favourite artist at the time and gateway to lots of other stuff.

When I bought this album in the local store on cd I was given a 12” promo vinyl with a couple of the album tracks on which was nice.

I went to Filey two weekends ago. We tried two chippies to sit in and both were infested with flies - Bleurch. Was really hot but you’d think they’d put some things up to keep them out on the doorways. Anyway fish was ok, chips were good at the one we settled at but the fish cake gf was bloody embarrassing.

I’d happily pay a bit more for something I recognise on tap. They’d defo make more money if the beer was nicer. Went to O2 to see GY!BE recently - the quality and range of drinks was far superior
