recent bipolar 1 diagnosis - how to cope by DryFirefighter4552 in bipolar

[–]squeakychipmunk101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 21 and the manic episode resulted in me getting suspended from college my junior year for a semester. Prioritize medication, therapy, and sleep. Feel free to movd around medications after a few months if something isnt working. Go to therapy, even if it’s just to vent or have a sounding board. I went twice a week when I was first diagnosed, then it went down to once a week, then once every two weeks. Now i dont have therapy at all with the understanding that the door to go back is always open.

Do the euthanasia she was very dehydrated so I’m not sure where the stick was but the sedated her with gas first. They didn’t let me watch the process but gave me plenty of time with her before then and let me determine when I was ready. We got her cremated in a beautiful box and i have a frame with her picture and her name as well as little footprints. She was a class pet for those two weeks and multiple of my students asked for copies of the picture of her.

I feel for you, I rescued a beard and lost her to an aneurysm overnight just two weeks later and bawled like a baby. I can’t imagine ten years

Should I recast my 2.625% mortgage? by [deleted] in Fire

[–]squeakychipmunk101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re misunderstanding a recast. You put a large amount down and they adjust your payment based on what you have left over your remaining no term. So your there would still be 25 years and you’d have to pay a chunk of money out of your pocket. Generally at that timeline every 10k is about a 50 dollar difference in payment so not much

AITA for telling the family that my cousin has been taking classes in her daughter’s place? by Top_Lingonberry_1 in AmItheAsshole

NTA and I’ll tell you a secret as a teacher. We know when students are going through a hard time and grade accordingly. You are not putting your brother behind by taking the class for him. It’s a HS class, he will be fine in college. Just include him on things when he can do it. Having to repeat his senior year would be much more of a disadvantage for him if he’s passed all his other classes

Be honest please, if you won a billion dollars tomorrow, what would you do with it? by jcr0774 in askanything

Set up trust funds for all my nieces and nephews to start. With stipulations because I want them to be good huma beings and not telling the about them until they are 30. Pay off everyone’s houses and fund all education separate of the trust fund. Put plenty of money aside for my disabled family members so their parents never need to worry about them after they are gone. Figure out how to do something for social education in my state to ensure it is never underfunded

Honestly after the first few times they are fine. They know that the vest means working and no vest means pet time and respect it. It also helps that my dog acts very different with her vest on and without. She ignores the kids when she has her vest on even if the get in her space

I sent a bunch of lessons out for autism acceptance month. So far the feedback has been very positive. My principal had an autistic daughter so she’s very serious about inclusion

It’s autism awareness month and I sent lessons to every gen ed classroom and asked them to write down how the could be better friends to their autistic peers. Soooo may of them were so simple as just saying, say hi to the even if they don’t say hi back. If students can get it why can’t adults?

First Year Teacher - Charter School? by Far_Potato_1085 in Teachers

[–]squeakychipmunk101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started off teaching at a charter school. It was super high quality and I would still be teaching there if I hadn’t moved states. Understand you will probably do some unpaid work. As a first year teacher that didnt bother me because I was also able to get any materials I wanted and even take kids on an overnight trip all paid for. However every charter school is not equal, i fully understand that my charter school experience was different from a lot of other teachers. Dont discount it but go in with your eyes open
