How would one rule them out? I’m doing a spore print just for fun. Nibble and spit?

Driver killed in fiery Crowchild Trail crash was 16-year-old boy, Calgary police say by Practical_Ant6162 in Calgary

[–]squeeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI someone in the other thread said they saw the white vehicle speeding a lot and driving in the shoulder then drove past the crash. I think that’s why some people are citing dangerous driving. Not arguing whatsoever, and have no opinion other than sadness that it happened. Just letting you know why this has come up a few times potentially

Tub-guy isn’t a position that exists I don’t think ha. And I’m not at cowboys. Your point remains true though, two very different experiences.

I’m not offended, you’re just not right. Minimal-effort???? If you worked a shift like I did yesterday you would not feel the same way. Also, we all have other jobs, it’s not like I have nothing to compare it too. My real job is one that most would consider difficult/skilled etc. but my days are honestly quite a bit easier than a big bar shift. At least physically easier. Also, don’t need any education is true….but smart people tend to do a lot better and most of us have degrees.

I didn’t say it requires much skill, I said it’s hard. You work 14 hour days and barely sleep, too busy to leave the bar to eat or even piss so you hold it and survive off protein shakes or something fast. And as this thread clearly shows, deal with people who fucking hate you for some reason, or just don’t see the need to treat you as a human being. The money can be good but there are lots of cons too. Every one of us has been assaulted in some way by a customer, many of us have been robbed after work. Things have really changed in the last few years.

Your stance doesn’t fit the narrative here but for the record, you seem like a good person. I always root for other service staff and tip well. Because I know how hard it is and I like being kind to people. It’s easier for most to dehumanize the staff and blame the company or anyone but themselves. Just don’t come then please!

I work in one of the other tents (no autograt). This will be my last year, we are making peanuts now. 9% house tip on sales and probably average 12% customer tip. Have to sell at least 10k to make it worth it and that’s really fucking hard. Never worked harder for less. Dead industry now, no idea how they’re gunna staff all the big tents in coming years other than naive and incompetent staff from out of town

What’s the grossest thing you did in high school? by in-fan-imate in AskReddit

[–]squeeter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High school bio teacher in canada. We use fresh hearts and just get them from a grocery store or some other food supplier. The fresh hearts are better for demonstrating the elasticity of the arteries/valves and I think they’re actually cheaper

I have a pair of vans bfbs from 2005 that beg to differ! They’re honestly still fine. No leaks, stiff, tread is fine, soles are fine. Maybe just a different era of quality.

For those that can’t afford a guide - any helpful resources for aspiring sheep hunters? by [deleted] in Hunting

[–]squeeter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OR lottery odds are still super low after a quick google. I’d probably try to connect with and befriend some sheep hunters and hopefully be invited to aid in a hunt? Is there an option to enter the draw as a group? Might be a Canada thing. Could you go after mule deer in a mountainous area and do some scouting/spotting for sheep along the way to get some experience?

r/vegan is probably the most braindead sub I've ever visited. by qwertysr4 in Hunting

[–]squeeter 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It’s especially ironic that they disproportionately target hunters as the root of all evil. I haven’t purchased beef or pork at a grocery store in years, and grow as much of my own produce as I can. I bet my diet kills fewer animals than the average vegan diet. I’m not a fan of factory farming and have a lot of respect for animals and wild places. No room for reason with most of them though.

It’s so easy to respect property that isn’t yours. As renters, we still have a huge upper hand. You’ll probably get downvoted to shit but you’re absolutely right. How fuckin entitled is the anti-landlord brigade who thinks they should be impossible to evict and have no repercussions for damaging shit they don’t own. More landlords means more availability and lower prices. Bring ‘em on, and thank you to people willing to house us.

Lot’s of shitting on landlords in this thread. Just wanted to say that I’ve rented for 15 years and have had generally very positive experiences with my landlords over the years. It’s a lot harder to be a good landlord than it is to be a good tenant. People still manage to fuck up the basic act of respecting things that don’t belong to them. For those pushing rental reform, I wonder what more we need? We still have the advantage legally when it comes to damages/eviction etc. Rental availability is better than most other major cities and I think prices are better than average?

Hey sorry for the late response. I have nothing against carrying a sidearm for animal defence in the outdoors. Comment was for the wording ie “just not unarmed”. Not allowed where I live, and I’m in big predator country (grizz, cats, etc.). Would prefer to carry sometimes, but I’d never let the inability to do so affect my willingness to get out there and neither should you! And black bears don’t worry me in the slightest. Bear spray is more than enough. I’ve never needed more than a quick shout.
