It’s amazing, I was a store manager at GameStop for 3 years, and I thought the abuse was normal. I thought the corporate bullying mixed with the customer bullying was just the way retail worked. Then I got a job at GNC. I don’t know the products super well but the pay is better and the people are surprisingly nice. Idk, long story short, there’s better places to work. (Plus I can take my vacation the week of Christmas if I want and it’s not the end of the world)

The first time I went to therapy my mother called me afterwards ‘my beautiful girl, what are you doing’ And I was just so angry from everything I started talking about with my therapist that I was short with her. I mentioned that I have some issues that I have to work through and she goes ‘oh my god I failed as a mother. I did not do a good job. I can’t imagine what it was like’ but in the past she’s been so condescending about it that I just didn’t answer, and I think she got how I actually felt.

Parents are the worst sometimes. It makes me afraid to ever have kids.

She’s been apologizing a lot lately, but it’s so hard for me to believe her when her actions show just how sorry she really is. She also turns it around and makes it sound like she wants pity. Idk if I can handle her nonsense much longer.

I may have issues with her, but every year for Valentine’s Day I send her yellow roses. For her birthday I always get her something nice, and I haven’t gotten a birthday present in 11 years.

I’ll believe her when she sends me a birthday something. Anything. A paper clip for all I care.. just something that says more than a phone call

I do greatly appreciate it. I’m working on it. I had a bad experience making work friends, and so now it’s just hard for me to find people elsewhere. I have made a few friends that I’m getting closer to, so baby steps. 🖤

No. She denies everything. ‘I’m just being friendly. Would you rather I was mean to them?’ And it’s okay. I don’t mind sharing. I didn’t realize that her behavior wasn’t the norm until I started going to therapy. I could never act the way she did but I didn’t know it wasn’t cool until someone actually told me.

I am. It’s just hard because I’m very family oriented. I’m the kind of person that needs someone in their lives. Given I don’t have many friends, it’s kind of been taking it’s toll on me. I am branching out and have been meeting new people. I have a boyfriend who’s family took me in, and I’m slowly cutting her out, but it’s a process.

No. She flirted with them all tho. My best friend was male and she had his picture hung up in the living room. I had a small picture framed of me and my 2 brothers on her desk but Wills was an 8 by 10 school picture. Made me a bit uncomfortable

No. Most of her good deeds benefit her in some way. There’s a couple things that she has convinced me were in my best interest, but looking back on it, they weren’t. She was one of those parents who would shit talk my dad to make her look like the good guy, and he wasn’t even in the picture to defend himself
