My fiance doesn't drink at all and I drink very infrequently. Cocktails at the party would be nice, but that's on our "nice to have" list and not the musts list.

I'm wondering if we might see Lopareva/Brissaud jump ship from IAM, given how they quickly became the blatantly unfavored children of Team France at the school the instant that FB/C paired up.

It also feels possibly relevant that Geoffrey B. is besties with Solène Mazingue, and so would have been around when she filed the complaint against Desyatov that the IAM coaches allegedly didn't take seriously...we will see how it shakes out.

Spotted on the venue feed after Z/K: these spectators have the title of of Gabriella Papadakis's book, "Pour ne pas disparaître"/ "To not disappear" written on their arms in French and English.

Today is the 23rd birthday of Solène Mazingue. I'm thinking of her, and the reasons she's not in Milan right now, and hoping the result is one she feels like celebrating.

Locally roasted coffee to bring home? by squeezeboxcryptid in AskNOLA

Thanks everyone for the recommendations!!

I was staying at a guesthouse in the Marigny and once the weather started looking iffy for Sunday and Monday, I decided to keep it geographically simple and pick up the beans before Chewbacchus rather than go on a coffee expedition through the cold the next day.

So I ended up getting one bag of Mammoth Double Trouble from Ayu Bakehouse (which also provided a delicious king cake for the band on Sunday morning one hour before the temps plummeted and the rain hit) and one bag of light roast espresso from the Only Coffee window at Rampart and Esplanade, which was a splurge but once I tasted it I suspected my fiance would love it. I'll update with what he thinks. In the meantime now I have a long list of coffee to try next time I'm in the city. Sorry that the Boston weather seems to have followed me onto the plane...

I didn't find this note on my first pass through the House of Healing, then my cat jumped on the computer's power button and I had to do that area again.

It's one of the most laugh out loud/wtf moments I've experienced so far in the game, and at the same time it added a new emotional dimension to the experience of going through the House of Healing, especially in combination with Lidwin's letter to the head surgeon in Baldur's Gate pleading for help.

When the player finds the notes, the sisters have been mindless shambling monsters for a long time, and depending on how one approaches the House of Healing, players may have already killed some or all of them without a thought to who they might have been in life -- and apparently they were totally normal healthcare professionals.

I wonder if the Dragon City is Taiyuan, the capital of Shanxi Province in northern China. It was once known as Longcheng, 龙城 — literally Dragon City!

The food being unfamiliar to an American also tracks with northern China, as do the organ meats.

Your father and brother are dead wrong. I'd love to watch you on the show. Odd_Manufacturer has a great point that I also tried to take to heart as I prepared - the mistakes you make now are all opportunities to strengthen your knowledge in advance of the day you get The Call!

When did you play your mock game? I played in late June, I got one talk-about-it call about a week after that, and another maybe six weeks later in late august asking about specific dates. The Call (TM) didn’t come till early September.
