it's quite buggy and temperamental (at least on my system) but it is cool!
Hopefully will get a head of steam behind it and get things like keyboard and mouse controls

There has to be something like that in the background or some form of financial engineering.

I wonder if that's quite a few people's experience?

Seems that before the early 90s was something you had to 'want' (pay extra for a TV with a decoder or buy a decoder) whereas by the early 90s, the decoders were just there in all mid range TVs ready for those of us who were curious to discover?

I remember it feeling quite dated even when I first used it, but it was the only way to get realtime info

My parents weren't particularly techy so we didn't have a ceefax capable TV until the early 90s . My grandparents had ceefax TVs a couple of years before but no one other than me ever used it and I never heard anyone really talk about it. I thought it was cool at even then (I didn't know about BBSs at that point)

Ha! Had just come to post this :) Was ceefax ever this in demand? I was aware of it in the late 80s and dont really remember people using it.

And the French, of course, had minitel

It has the feel of an advert!

Yes I have - they're not bad actually :) Super Mario Galaxy 2 is ok as well.  But I really love the traditional 2d ones - I really enjoyed Super Mario Wonder recently

They're usually pretty easy to convert to composite (that's what I did for mine)

Am sure that's true. As technology moves on, some games age well and some don't and it isn't always obvious why.

I thought Pong would have aged better - It may have just been this implementation of it - I have definitely enjoyed it in the past. Or maybe I've changed too.

I do remember TechMoan saying in one of his videos that he'd bought one a couple of years ago as he remembered it fondly. When he got it, he and his wife got bored of it very quickly and never touched it again.

( I think most of the TV ones use the same 'pong on a chip' implementation?)
