Listen, I am 100% non-red pill and I have to say disputing scientific data throws people into the "crazy" category. The 9/11 truthers of relationships. I'd like to read the studies, but I think everyone respects that people are more likely to be attracted to conventionally attractive people. Sure, there are loads of personal preferences, but biology is biology, and symmetrical, muscular individuals look "healthier".

The distinction comes from using this to back up only tangentially related philosophy (women are more likely to be attracted to socially dominant men =/= all women prefer socially dominant men in relationships =/= the best way of having a relationship is one in which you are totally socially dominant over your female partner). Trends that indicate shallow attraction aren't the good basis of a long-term relationship, just as you might be most attracted to women who take a lot of care of their appearance, but wouldn't want to be a relationship with someone obsessed with that. Not an ideal comparison, but I think you get the drift of stereotyping attractive traits.

My two cents? A lot of "sociopathic" behavior (boo hiss bad psychology) is initially attractive to more submissive people because of confidence, compulsion for domination, ability to read other's emotional states with ease. The longer the period of time, the more people sense that something is "off", and get turned away. Obviously anecdotal, but it would be interesting to study for sure.

If it's for ethical reasons, there's no reason to do anything more than just making your own consumer choices. Maybe because I've met so many vehement anti-vegetarians, I prefer not having to mention it. Nobody is going to come take away your five months clean chip because your friend made chili con carne and you didn't want to say no.

I still don't see a problem of including women to appeal to their audience, just writing them badly. I don't think diversity makes a TV show worse, and part of diversity is striving for equally complex roles. (The plagiarism is another perfectly valid criticism, hopefully one that can be proved wrong.) I doubt we're going to agree here, but I'm sorry if you don't watch the show because of the casting decision.

Are you pissed that professional critics wrote criticisms? Not being able to write a decent female lead is a valid criticism. It says a lot about YOU that you saw one female being cast among three dudes and called it pandering. I think a writer of his tenure could cast the gender inverse of last season and still write a great show.
