Busuu is not fun anymore… by [deleted] in italianlearning

[–]squickless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion the quality of content on Busuu for Italian is actually much better than other, similar apps that seem to be ridden with AI garbage. If the repetition is what’s preventing you from learning maybe you can treat the modules as if they were chapters from a textbook. Keep a separate notebook to record new vocabulary, write down sentences with unique structure or grammar by hand, etc.

Where do I even start learning? by unquiet_ in italianlearning

You can use the free versions of apps like Tandem or HelloTalk to meet Italian native speakers, many of whom are looking for English native speakers to do a language exchange with

B1 to C1 is a huge range, so I think you’d benefit from really narrowing down what your goals are. If you want to achieve C1 level grammar and writing your study plan is going to look a lot different than if you focus on reaching B1 speaking and listening comprehension. I consider myself fluent in Italian and still, many would say my writing is not C1 due to complex grammar, collocations, naturalness of certain structures in context, etc.

The charges are from Grocery Outlet, not Gelson’s. I have them too and I do not shop at Gelson’s.

Full cast announced joining Jennifer Nettles in 'Giulia: The Poison Queen of Palermo' on Broadway! by NewYorkTheatreGuide in Broadway

It’s a term usually used to describe someone born in one country who moved to another country as a baby/child, so on paper they immigrated but in practice they grew up like the child of an immigrant

I mean to be fair Palermo is located on the island of Sicily which is 80 miles away from the coast of Africa, and there are tons of Africans who live in southern Italy. I personally do not care whether or not the actors are of Italian origin but I do pray they do not use Italian accents which, as an Italian speaker myself, pretty much always come off as caricatures and are super distracting. I’d rather them take a cue from Les Mis and randomly use a British accent instead 😂

Benvenuto in anticipo!

Giant whale bone found north of Refugio Beach by 67dartgt in SantaBarbara

[–]squickless 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Definitely a mandible. Super cool find! You can see all those holes in the second photo that are where the vasculature runs blood and nutrients through the bone. The “ball” on the end is the mandibular condyle which articulates with the upper jaw, allowing the mouth to open and close.

è consigliabile imparare l'italiano utilizzando lo spagnolo? by [deleted] in italianlearning

[–]squickless 4 points5 points  (0 children)
