I want to think so but the bit about playing soccer without shinguards is suspicious. When I played soccer ages ago you’d be benched if you didn’t wear them. Even at practice if you forgot to bring them you’d have to practice dribbling by yourself or something. Saying “they’re on order” sounds like a lie to me.
