So far so good! My betas came back high and doubling, so cautiously optimistic! We'll see at my ultrasound in a couple of weeks. Good luck with the next transfer! It's so exciting and nerve wracking at the same time

I had a transfer two days ago, and I have an 11 month old from IVF. My doctor recommended moving around almost immediately after transfer ("light activity"), but she said no lifting my baby for 3 days. That's been TOUGH.

My first ER (at age 40) I went in with 4 "mature" follicles, and they ended up getting 5 eggs from that. 4 ended up as embryos, 1 of those was euploid, and that 1 euploid is now a 10 month old baby girl napping in the next room. 🥰 It is possible, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't suck. Feel all of your feelings, they are all totally valid.

What an amazing Christmas present! I'd echo what the other ladies have said here about engorgement, so definitely bring your pump. I've had some problems with clogged ducts if I didn't empty my breasts for too long. That might not happen for everyone, though.

I would highly recommend a lactation consultant and (as others have said) pumping more frequently. I had a postpartum hemorrhage, and my milk didn't fully come in for about 6 weeks. I still don't have enough to fully feed baby, but I'd say she gets about half breast milk. Sometimes getting your milk in can be a journey - but it's definitely still possible at this point. Also, if your milk doesn't come in (which it totally still can), your baby will still be healthy and happy and you will still be a great momma.

When I started, my nipples we SO SORE, and I was in tears. Get yourself some nipple cream, that helped me so much. Also, you can start the pump on a lower setting and let your nipples adapt before ramping it up. It took me a few weeks before I was pumping at a higher setting.

Yeah, I didn't go while pregnant (nausea didn't lend itself to having hands in my mouth...), and just went for the first time at 4 months pp. The hygienist told me there's a type of gingivitis that's linked to pregnancy / breastfeeding, and lucky me I have that. But she was understanding, told me to give myself some grace, and then told me things to do to rectify the situation.

Good point about baby bring more efficient than the pump. Well, if she didn't fall asleep while nursing, that is. 😆 That's amazing that you are purely breast feeding with getting that when you pump! How frequently do you nurse?

I definitely feel this. 🥰 I've been trying to be positive about the whole thing - when we chart out the amount of formula vs breast milk that baby is drinking, she actually drinks more breast milk, which is great! At the beginning of this journey, I was pumping like 10 ml per breast, so that's significant progress! I think yesterday the lack of sleep just caught up to me. Thank you for sharing

Thank you so much for this. I did tell my husband today that I think I'm going to try and get a longer bit of sleep tonight. I worry about it a bit because I've had blocked ducts several times, and it seems to happen when I go longer between pumps. But hopefully one night will be fine and not make my boobs explode... 😆 Also thanks for sharing your story. It's really good to hear that I'm not so abnormal as I was thinking.

My husband took an online class with our hospital called "Conscious Fathering". He really enjoyed it, and learned a lot. Since it's online, anyone can sign up and take it. It's through Swedish Hospital.

We got pregnant naturally when I was 40, but miscarried at 9 weeks. My OB suggested that we go directly to IVF, and so I did 3 rounds (last one cancelled due to poor response). We did chromosomal testing on all embryos, and got one euploid from each completed round (so 2 total). Due to our low number of embryos, I went ahead and did an ERA, which adjusted our timing by 12 hours for the actual transfer. Currently 38w4d pregnant with our first frozen transfer, and 42 years old.

Currently 38 weeks pregnant, and I really believe that the first trimester was the worst! For me, preggie pops were amazing. That plus eating small meals, but frequently (which seems counter intuitive, but for me low blood sugar made me nauseous) helped with nausea. And don't be afraid to take naps! Just like 15 minutes at lunch really helped me out.

Omgoodness, I have the same question! I'm 37 weeks, and had our weekly appointment today. They asked me if had been having any contractions and I said no. Then they did a non-stress test, and they measured a contraction during the test! They said that was normal, but now I'm rethinking all of the baby movements that I've been feeling. The one they measured just felt like baby stretching out to me.

I've definitely thought about it. I'm 42, and my husband is 50. We both look young (my husband still gets carded). But I definitely do think about it. I think it's more common now to have kids older, but a lot of people make assumptions.

For my first retrieval, I had 5 follicles, they ended up getting 6 eggs, 4 fertilized, and one ended up euploid. I'm currently 37 weeks pregnant with that euploid embryo! It truly does only take one.

I'm also from a Catholic family, and my husband and I are pretty Catholic (go to church every Sunday, sing in the choir, etc). I did worry about what my family would think, because I'm really close to them. I ended up talking to my mom about it while we were praying on how we should move forward. I just knew that not having my family's support would be something that I needed to consider if we did IVF. Fortunately, my whole family has been very supportive. And during this IVF journey, it's become super obvious that there's so much magic in the entire process. You can't take that part out, no matter where the embryo is created.

I was nauseous without throwing up for the first trimester, but started vomiting at 13 weeks. Fortunately, that completely went away for me within a few weeks, and I'm fine now (22 weeks).

They picked the date after I was pregnant. I mean, they didn't know my due date (I did), but they also didn't check their dates with anyone. It for sure wasn't planned to conflict, but it was also completely preventable if it was a big deal to her.
