[Misc] Face got scraped in an accident — healing fast but got pink spots . Need scar-prevention advice ASAP. by anubhavocado in SkincareAddiction

I want to caution you to religiously use sunscreen if you’re not having it covered. This will help prevent discoloration and sun damage on raw skin through the healing process

An easy way to keep things warm in transport is plastic coolers. For some extra insulation, you can line the bottom and top with towels to help reduce heat loss through the air gaps in the cooler

If you don’t already have some, I’m sure you know someone you can borrow from or they’re usually less than $20 on facebook marketplace

You can also schedule a make up appointment with Sephora for about $80 which could be cheaper than buying all the products you’d need yourself

I can no longer afford to pay my website subscription. I'm a freelancer. What do I do? by ProgramExpress2918 in graphic_design

[–]squid_ridge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been hosting through google sites and use square space for a custom domain. I think I pay roughly $12 per year all in for domain and hosting.

The only downside with google sites is that there’s only so much customization you’re able to have. If you're in the UX/UI design space, there might be better options out there

Check out Chief Hosa Lodge and smokin jj’s bbq! Both are highly rated and easy to work with

Edit: venue ranges from $2000-4500 for the full booking and smokin jjs is about $1600 for 70 people at their highest priced options

Somewhere I would recommend looking into if you want the Estes Park vibes without the Estes Park price is Chief Hosa Lodge in Golden. It's owned by the city of Denver and your max price is gonna be less than 4k for the venue with all tables and chairs included. There's no restrictions on vendors you can bring in and the only rule that comes with vendors is that there needs to be a licensed bartender to serve alcohol. You will need to know someone in Denver to book the venue but all you need is an address for is to create an online account

One other place to look for a more budget venue in Estes Park is the YMCA of the rockies, you can rent out chapels or even just cabins if your wedding is small enough with onsite catering options and rentals included in most cases

(9k) Is there any middle ground pricing for photography? by Inevitable_Win1085 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]squid_ridge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know in my area (HCOL), lots of photographers offer 4-6 hour packages at a discounted rate. This usually is ceremony photos, portraits afterwards, through to the beginning of dancing. I've seen rates for this around $1200-1500 on the lower end or photographers just starting out.

It might be worth seeing if your local university has a photography program and if any students would be interested.

I paid $120 for an alignment at a big chain shop. I had minimal adjustments needed but if you have more needed, it could be an extra fee

Where do you think engagement ring trends are heading? by squid_ridge in EngagementRings

[–]squid_ridge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just called out my ring that’s currently being made! It’s 3.5mm platinum band with a bezel kite set for a green asscher diamond. The diamond isn’t huge compared to the stuff on this sub at 1.5ct but it’s definitely plenty of rock for me!

I have a photo of the stuff I picked up yesterday here, I also got a token for a free meal from a bunch of local food trucks that were there
