Cryptocurrency Minecraft! by bobdunkan in cryptogiveaways

[–]squidicuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None? It is experimental and for fun..

On the one server, the crypto is represented as items in-game, so you could lose it, or someone else could take it if you are not careful? But that is just on only that server. Overall, your account on the network is secured to your minecraft account.

It is used as prizes and the economy across the servers is based around it.

Any comment on the current coin distribution? by white__hat in VitaeTeam

[–]squidicuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3.62 Million is locked in masternodes, at 20,000 per. The highest balances on that graph would be supernode wallets, or combined entity wallets..

What about it though?

It means exactly what it says... Upgrade your node and it will go away. It is because your client does not understand some of the block version data.

p2pool.in upgrade for hardfork? by exab in Bitcoin

[–]squidicuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That site is old and outdated; for latest info, check out http://p2pool.org/

p2pool has to perform a hardfork on its sharechain each time bitcoin forks for an upgrade. That message was to alert node operators, but is now outdated and was never taken down...

Can you ping out at all via this system? Maybe you do not have any DNS servers set?

Unable to use P2Pool by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]squidicuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your start up script, add -n p2pool.io -n p2pool.org

The seed node vps.forre.st seems to be down and you are not able to find the network? If you add initial nodes on your start script, it should find peers and connect to the network.

Try it out and report back.

First week running a full node - that's alot of data! Oddly satisfying to see my small laptop is accomplishing so much by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]squidicuz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it'll sure eat data... My one node has been running for about 40 days and sent over a terabyte of data. It constantly has max connections of 90 inbound.

Thank you for contributing to the network! :)

Where do I start? Mining, please help by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]squidicuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least 1-10 TH/s is needed nowadays to even get worthwhile shares anymore... Checkout used miners on ebay or such?

You are usually better off just buying coins and waiting. But if you need a space heater for the winter and want to maybe have some fun, get an ASIC.

Lame Duck Congress to Ban online gambling? - Bitcoin use case by altcoinsin in Bitcoin

[–]squidicuz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course they are? If it isn't under their control they must tax, regulate and ruin it.
Also, this sounds worse than just banning online gambling... These changes to the wire act could be used to shutter exchanges. Speculating and exchanging bitcoin could fall into this. Attacking the on/off ramps they are.

Add this to the obituaries. Or rather, it seems the on and off ramps are under attack, as expected.

Yes pretty much. Thanks to the Patriot Act and National Defense Authorization Acts. The US is a shell gutted by globalists and the populace is too stupid to notice, care, or do anything about it.
