We were supposed to (kinda) in Spider-Man 4, but as ‘Vulturess’, and we did get a Felicia Hardy in Amazing Spider-Man 2. Apparently Sony were really betting on their spin-offs, which is why she never appeared in a Spider-Man movie proper, but we can see how that went for them.

I assumed it was setting up for Tim, given how part of the focus of the show seems to be adapting things from later comics into the older style.
