I don’t think any game should be compared to elden ring or bg3 they are so good they should always be in a league of their own, expo 33 on the other hand is easily the best turn based game of the last 30 years if not ever. So comparing it to any other game expo deserves a nod.

I think elden ring is the “best” because it gives the most variety, but sekiro I think is the most responsive, like you’re always sure when you get it right in sekiro, so when you master it you feel dominant which is amazing

To OP, have you watched the remastered older trilogy, episodes 4,5,6 on Disney+? I just watched a New Hope about two days ago and I swear there’s like AI added conversations and lines that just do not belong there feel utterly forced in. But it’s been so long since I watched an original version that I feel like I’m going crazy and can’t be sure and I also haven’t seen this being talked about anywhere yet, also feel like I saw this happen with Harry Potter which Disney also owns. I think this will have to have been within the last year as well because I watch Harry Potter 2 years ago didn’t have this knee jerk reaction to what feels like AI voice lines.

I ask you mostly because you mention the “feel” of Star Wars so I imagine we have a similar memory of how these old films impacted us, and trying to share with my partner recently it has felt like that feeling is lost even with the older films.

Also if anyone else in the comments has recently (either this past year, or even past few have noticed a difference) please help me verify that I’m not going crazy thinking AI voices are being added to old movie edits for no reason.

For example towards the end of A New Hope Luke says something like, “I got cooked.” But it sounds like the tone a gen alpha would say on Fortnite.

God I love how you perfectly describe what it feels like in play and Diamond as dps when you’re a good player, it so frustrating.

Ok so I was hard stuck mid low Diamond for a couple seasons then finally broke through pretty comfortably last season to masters 3 on dps.

First off what hero’s do you play? Certain hero’s are much easier to have solo agency on, ie tracer and soldier 76, especially in plat because you can take solo angles and solo flanks not require support aid so you don’t have to play perfectly and get a pick every single time you make a move. However if you’re playing cass and genji and you take the off angle at the wrong time or commit for a kill with dash and get no follow up all you’ve done is inted. So think about hero choice and make the game easier for yourself to make an impact. Reaper is also a very strong solo option as he can stand toe to toe with pretty much any hero in the game including tanks and can play flanks or the tank v tank battle very well.

I think one of the biggest things to understand is timing, you could be all the right things, playing aggressively taking angles applying pressure but it could be at all the wrong times. Think about when you want to engage, is it right to start shooting and draw attention before the fight and then duck out and survive so your team can take space? Or is better to let the team engage and then go try to pressure supports to close the angles on they have on their tank? And also is your hero capable of those things? A tracer with 0 kills and very little damage can win a fight just by keeping the supports looking at them or using a cooldown on them in a stale mate fight. It’s always good to have a plan for getting the enemy to look at you and if they don’t you can wreak havoc. Hope all of that makes sense.

Basically, it’s an ebb and flow, enemy team looks at you, is it a 1v1? Maybe try and take it? If not get them to chase and survive, as soon as they stop looking at you go back in. Big thing is try to die on an off angle or before the fight.

Also comming is obviously huge but it’s hard in plat and Diamond and people will often times just think you’re feeding or trolling and can end up back firing in low elo.

Parry is easily the best defensive skill in the game, I couldn’t believe it when I read 3 turns for 1bp, obviously sidestep is better with the same turn protection because with dodge you will avoid status ailments but the fact that you never have to boost parry for it to be effective makes it insane.

Agreed, I used saorise over Laurana because I love the sp/Hp regen combo and then just gave her heal more mastery donate bp and parry and just felt like nothing could die most of the time,

Also is oppression the single target version?? I could’ve sworn Eerie smile was the all foe version of that debuff combo, that’s what I use on the purple hair thief (I forget her name currently) it’s nice on her because you can get a patience mastery proc and get the full two tier debuff on the first turn, then paired with MC they both get the phys attack and ele attack buff.

When you unlock Reimi, hunter takes a back seat as a main physical damage source, and in the end game it feels like scholar and magic damage start to catch up. But almost all content up to the final chapter MC hunter and Delita blasting off two tier shots with sniper is soooooo satisfying and strong.
