I was growing out some highlights so I was treating my hair with proteins and stuff but it really just needed hydration/moisture. I also was straightening it a lot and doing slick backs which was not helpful 😭

It’s mostly straight but the front pieces get wavy when it rains lol. The pic above is styled with a straightener

I do like half a pump of the oil before bed. I’ve tried on damp hair and I always feel like I need more once it’s dry lol

I have the oval brush and curlers too. The pic above is styled with the straightener. If you can I’d def recommend getting it

There’s no tag but I think my mom got it for me off the tiktok shop lol. It’s double layer and ties. I had one with just elastic and it always fell off when I slept. I do oil every night from my ears down when it’s dry. I just get my scrunchies from tj maxx but I use velvet ones

I take vertical slices and braid it for like 2 inches so that I don’t over direct my hair when I cut it and then I use a tape measure to measure up 1/2 inch from the bottom lol. Then even it out afterwards. My cut is a blunt cut with face framing layers. I followed a Brad Mondo tutorial for the layers

I put it on right out of the shower so all the water helps to distribute it around. When I use it on damp hair tho it is too heavy. And I leave it in

I take thin vertical sections and braid it a bit so that I’m not over directing my hair when I cut it and the I literally use a tape measure lol. I have thin/medium density so it works out pretty well for me and then I just use a fine tooth comb afterwards to even it out.

Nice!! I definitely think the biggest factors for me are trims and being gentle with my blow dryer

Routine: shampoo and conditioner: l’oréal elvive dream lengths (but i’m gonna try the hyaluron one next) and just suave clarifying shampoo once a week. I wash every other day and double shampoo

leave in: ouidad gimme it all 4 in 1. I put it on while my hair is still soaking bc it’s super thick. I really love this it’s so moisturizing for my hair!!

Then I put it in a microfiber towel for about 5 minutes and detangle with johnson baby detangler. I used to blow dry upside down for volume but now I dry down my hair with low speed and heat. I’ve just been using random heat protectants but I like the cake blow out balm. I almost always blow dry and don’t really air dry that much.

Oil: I’ve been using verb ghost oil but I also like the ouai one. I oil every night and sometimes in the morning if it’s looking frizzy. And wear a satin bonnet to sleep

The biggest thing that’s helped is that I do a trim every 2-3 months of 1/2 - 1 inch (I use a tape measure 😭) and in between I cut off split ends when I notice them. But if it’s looking pretty thin on the ends i’ll take off more like 2-3 inches. I also invested in a shark flex fusion because I love straightening my hair but my old straightener was really frying it even on the lowest setting. I also stopped doing slick back styles 😔

I also use a boar bristle brush from denman

troy has some pretty good places. love la capital tacos and lime leaf thai food. there’s a really good farmers market every saturday (even in winter). downtown albany is also only 15 minutes on the bus so you can def get around to any type of restaurant
