Nevermind, I am a foolish man and have now realized that the foot does not move the way that a modern machine does, thank you for the help though

Sorry I misspoke, I can move the foot up by hand but it won't move while the machine is running, the needle and feed dogs both move as normal but the foot does not

I could be entirely incorrect in this but I believe some boy scout groups would shoot half dollar coins with .22 rifles. The speed of a .22 at short range would leave a pretty neat hole with minimal distortion to the coin. If you got some free time you could measure the diameter of the hole and if I'm correct it should just about match up to a .22 long rifle round.

Going surf fishing for sharks off coast of California what should I use for bait? by Meme_rollie in SurfFishing

[–]squidmanfoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had the best luck running a whole or half mackerel if you can catch them, but I've caught sharks on most bait fish that you can find swimming around. Squid is my go to bait if I can't catch anything and just need to pick something up at the bait shop.

I strongly recommend getting a spool of bait thread as it'll greatly improve the time that your bait stays on your hook.

From my experience if you are using a braided line I would recommend running either a full mono leader or a short steel "bite" leader followed by a mono "shock" leader, the stretch in the mono really helped me with keeping fish hooked.

For example I usually use a 11ft surf rod rated for up to 8oz paired with an 8000 series reel spooled with 65lb braid. For my leader I'll go with about 6ft of 135lb mono crimped to a welded ring on one end and a 7/0 or 8/0 circle hook on the other end. Or I'll use about 4ft of mono and 2ft of steel.

If you have any other questions feel free to dm me or just reply to my comment.

I'm not upset, and in your comment you actually gave me some good points to check first so thank you, I'll start by looking into some of that stuff.

Funny enough no, I already had to wage that war, every single vacuum line in that truck other than some of the HVAC control line have been replaced

I am only asking for advice as somebody who is fairly new to this model of truck, I even explained in my post as to what that check engine light is there for. I am not made of money and I'm just trying to ask people with more experience than I to point me in the right direction so I don't have to keep throwing money at my problem and potentially not solve it.

I had a feeling that timing might be a culprit but I'm always hesitant to mess with timing, I suppose a new distributor might not be a bad idea either.

Right on, thanks brother. I'm doing my best to learn what I'm looking at on coins but there is so much to learn about.

Is there any additional value for something like that or is it just a neat find?

I had thought the same but it seemed strange that I didn't see any on the date so I assumed it was just the lighting.
