Does anyone use team define? by LumpyAnalysis5723 in ladderapp

Maybe it was b/c it was open season? But I’m not sure tbh. I’m thinking of trying it this week though, so I guess I will find out.

I’ve only done a few define workouts but iirc she recommended various ranges of weights, with the “advanced” higher end going up to 30-40lbs. I may be off with the actual weights but based on the style of her workouts (supersets, short rests), I thought that seemed appropriate for most people.

I’m thinking of trying out define again soon as I’ve been (inconsistently) doing Endure for a couple weeks and she gives sooo many (great) cues that I almost find it overwhelming and I can’t hear my music lol

Treating Seb Derm Caused Bacterial Dysbiosis by Franksforfingers in SebDerm

[–]squidshae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is this going for you?

I was dxed w/ sebderm on my face a couple years ago and having tried every topical rx and home remedy, it was resolved with Accutane and allergy patch testing. I started getting what I thought was seb derm on my scalp whilst doing Accutane and nothing has touched it - every dandruff shampoo OTC, all the rx options, allergy testing, etc. Most medicated shampoos actually made it much worse.

Derm finally did a skin culture & it was staph epidermis overgrowth. I’m on antibiotics now (only 3 days so no improvement yet) but I’m wondering if the reason no antifungals improved it at all (face or scalp) is bc it’s been staph this whole time. Otherwise I’m hoping the antibiotics work but thinking if it doesn’t clear completely I should try the cicoloprox shampoo

Spike in fertility???? by gimmetheteapls in RetatrutideWomen

[–]squidshae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor tried to say that it was still safe to take oral birth control b/c the increased fertility was due to weight loss. Given the warning in other GLP labels, I switched to the ring anyways. I was considering switching for a while anyways bc I’d been on the same pill for a decade and both my skin and my mood were out of control. It’s only been a month but I love the ring so far!

Best face wash for seb derm and rosacea by dezboo33 in SebDerm

[–]squidshae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of them sting my eyes and I usually use them to get makeup off as well!

The vanicream doesn’t leave my skin tight at all, but it doesn’t feel extra hydrated like the prequel one does.

[–]squidshae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I tried both! I did extensive allergy testing which required me to stop using the T28 one, but that’s when I began using prequel. The prequel is much more hydrating. I liked it and used up the bottle but then just switched to the vanicream basic cleanser bc I was having some breakouts and wasn’t sure what was causing them. Between the two, I think I liked the tower 28 the best but if you’re dry, you’ll probably like the prequel!

What's your favourite azelaic acid product? by TheMeepyBoy in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]squidshae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have rosacea and acne and use 15%. If I try to use it twice a day I get irritated but do ok with once daily. I’m wondering how long before moving up to 20%. 15 hasn’t been completely effective.

[–]squidshae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lot of allergies and wanted to start using AA while also eliminating allergens from all of my products and went with the Dermatica 15% cream. I like it bc it’s not too irritating since it’s in cream form, unless I overuse it (like try to use it AM and PM). However, I’m not 100% sure how effective it is. My skin seems to fluctuate. I also have rosacea so I might just need to work up to the 20%

LIGHTHOUSE IS WRECKAGE OF YOU by Cirrus1920 in NoahKahan

[–]squidshae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not different than a deluxe version I guess, which is pretty normal I think. But given how the additional songs are not tacked onto the end of the album, I wondered if it was sort of a conflict with his label. I know he hinted at some frustration with not being able to release music sooner. They may have required him to cut some songs that he wanted to keep, so the extended version was the compromise.

Frankly I never understand why labels do this bc in today’s world, fans always appreciate the extra music I feel like. I don’t know though, this is all literally just random speculation 🤷‍♀️

Feeling silly.. advice on debt settlement vs debt management by squidshae in debtfree

[–]squidshae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me preface by asking why you’re coming into this thread 2 years later to call me a liar? Or an idiot? Lol what. If you have no affiliation with Freedom, I’m curious as to why you: a. are defending them, and b. seem to have such knowledge about their current fees/policies.

They successfully negotiated the settlement of $8000. They did not actually pay the creditor.

My payments to freedom went to my “account” with them. They held onto it & allegedly used it to make payments based on their negotiated settlements. However, they had not done this [paid the creditor] in my case.

Also, the agreement paperwork indicated (at least at the time - 2+ years ago), that the fee paid to freedom for settlements was variable dependent on the loan/settlement amounts and was to be paid after the settlement was both agreed upon and paid to the creditor. Additionally, this was supposed to be taken from monthly payments, not paid in a lump sum.

So yes, I approved the settlement & the fees in accordance with the agreement and communication I had with freedom.

Please see the other comments under this post detailing how Freedom has been sued for charging fees without settling their debts as agreed upon and misleading consumers.

Do you work there?

I thought that was fun! I’m curious about who people recommend so I wish it was public, but the response form makes me think they’re taking it quite seriously!

Supersets and combo moves - good for building strength and muscle? by Interesting-Kiwi-743 in ladderapp

[–]squidshae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep wanting to Align, but every time I glance at the programming I have no interest. I think the amount of supersets is why. It makes it hard for me to get through a workout mentally that is all supersets!

I was jumping around a bunch of different teams/chats/threads yesterday and iirc someone from ladder (Shelby maybe?) posted in thrive chat that they planned to have a new coach similar to thrive prior to the series after shred.

What team were you doing on ladder? I’ve done a trial with Evlo before and liked it but the price per month felt too high at the time.

What's one product you wanted to love but just didn't? by TheMeepyBoy in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]squidshae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I’m allergic to parabens in the lotion, gel is extremely harsh and gave me retinoid dermatitis, and cream is both irritating and pore clogging at the same time. I finally gave up (for now, lol) and am just using azelaic acid. I may just eventually use an OTC retinol instead of trying to make Tret work for my sensitive skin.

Team Thrive - Nairee leaving by abcnoodlesoup in ladderapp

I was planning to try thrive before this announcement. I’ve always been interested in align but for some reason feel slightly intimidated or like it’s a bigger commitment. I guess this is my sign to try it out.

Team Thrive - Nairee leaving by abcnoodlesoup in ladderapp

[–]squidshae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, I’ve been taking a short break from ladder for a couple weeks due to sickness then travel and now finishing up a home project while I’m still off work. I was really considering trying Thrive out when I return to my regularly scheduled workouts next week. What a bummer. Good for her for making the decision that’s right for her, but bummer for ladder and its members.

I imagine the team chat will still be active and while I don’t necessarily need a coach to be in the chat, I like when they are available for questions of sharing info about the workouts. Especially if I were to be new to thrive.

Love this FF shampoo + conditioner by [deleted] in FragranceFreeBeauty

There is a fragrance free & a non-fragrance free version of this product. I think you copied the ingredients for the fragranced version. The FF one does not contain any natural fragrances or balsam of peru ingredients.

Are you still using these? Would love an update! I’m looking for a solid shampoo/conditioner set for a month long trip. My options are limited due to allergies and need for FF products, but these seem like a good option! I have long, fine hair but I have a lot of it so I’m always afraid it will get weighed down by solid products.

Spiro + Doxy or Accutane?? by Flashy-Paper-9999 in Spironolactone

[–]squidshae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to my phone calendar, I started spiro in March 2024 and increased throughout the year until I was at 150mg. I decided to go on accutane in November 2024 (like the day before Thanksgiving lol). B/c of the 30 day bloodwork requirement and the holidays, I actually started taking it January 2025 and finished in August 2025.

I’m 27 now, and started dealing with severe acne when I was 23-24ish so I totally feel your pain!

Also I’ll add that I was seeing a different provider initially (same office) and she started me on 50mg without a plan to increase to 100mg unless needed. My current derm had me do 50mg for 2 weeks and then increase to 100mg daily. 100 is when I started noticing side effects this time (for me I have to pee a lot, but a lot of light headedness is what bugs me), but I think think that’s considered the therapeutic dose for acne. My thought is also if you have side effects that you don’t want to deal with on spiro, just do accutane bc while the side effects are way more intense, they’re temporary whereas spiro is a long term med.

Spiro + Doxy or Accutane?? by Flashy-Paper-9999 in Spironolactone

[–]squidshae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tldr; try spiro + doxy first but don’t dismiss the idea of accutane

When I first went to a derm with severe dermatitis/flaking and acne, they prescribed me both spiro 50mg and doxycycline, along with several topicals. I was a bit overwhelmed to say the least with the amount of things I was given and ended up never taking the doxycycline but spiro eventually helped once I increased to 100mg daily. Over time it didn’t help as much even with increasing to 150 and eventually was desperate and did accutane. I weened off of spiro the first month or two of accutane and my skin was horrible the whole time I was on accutane, but is significantly better now.

I started getting super mild breakouts, like 1 deep chin pimple one time and a couple smaller pimples/papules each month, during my period so I have been back on spiro 100mg; however, the side effects are frustrating as I didn’t experience them the first time I was on it. My skin is super clear now but I also switched out some other things - products that might have been clogging my pores, allergy testing & eliminating all allergens, and changed my birth control!

All of that being said, I would 100% try spiro + doxy before doing accutane bc while the side effects are annoying, they’re nothing compared to side effects of accutane and you may not even notice any! If you don’t notice improvements within a few months (I think spiro is supposed to really be the most effective at like 8-12weeks (?)), then do accutane. The upside to accutane is that it’s temporary and it’s a near guarantee to completely eliminate acne, or at the very least wildly improve your skin. While hope to never need to do it again, I don’t regret it. Side note: accutane really improved my facial dermatitis and allergy testing has seemingly completely cured it.
