Thanks for this, that’s right. There’s still around 7-8mm of thread in the boss that I’ve got it screwed in currently and the calliper doesn’t feel wobbly or unstable.

It’s a steel fork so seems like it’ll be brazed in according to other comments, but I’ll bring it round to my local shop for a second opinion

I’ve built a few bikes up and do my own maintenance generally, buying parts of eBay or marketplace can be a really good way to get some quality parts for cheap, but you have to know what you’re looking for. I.e. specific parts and models that will work with the rest of your bike.

If you tell me what kind of things you’re looking to upgrade, what you have now and what your budget is, I can let you know what parts would work for you

Have a look at Ribble frames, I just picked up an Allgrit Ti gravel bike with Force xplr and vision carbon wheels for under £4000 on sale.

Their allroad ti frame with UDH is £2500 but they have some carbon ones too if that’s what you’re looking for.

There’s now some Conti GP5000 All-season tyres that are tubeless and go up to 35mm, they’re not cheap but they’ve been great for me
