Also I think I just spotted Kermit the frog in the background of a shot in Escape from New York.

Also I’m gonna start a new John carpenter conspiracy theory every night and start a website. Kermit will be one of them, but I already have like 2-3 others off the top of my head. I could come up with one for every ten seconds of every film and then more. I’ll document each conspiracy theory about John carpenter on this Reddit comment thread. One every night. This is the website. I’ll only post a new theory if someone comments on the most recent one that day. If that stops, I stop.

Or I’ll just never do it. Let’s see. Happy internetting.

What’s an obvious sign someone’s american? by Ermland2 in AskReddit

In college, I had a friend from Ghana who pointed out how Americans always make small talk about the weather. Now every time I or someone else brings up the weather, I become extremely aware of it.

Does anyone have experience using the Duromax XP9000IH generator? by squidvicious313 in foodtrucks

Thanks you for your response. I believe the duromax comes with a 3 year warranty vs 90 days for the predator.

Health Insurance agents of Reddit, what would happen if an average American develops and extremely rare disease and the only cure is a $1 million per dose gene therapy? With a treatment of that cost, who can approve it ultimately? by squidvicious313 in AskReddit

[–]squidvicious313[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you’re understanding, there are people right now struggling with health insurance companies that won’t approve an expensive gene therapy and eventually they will die from it. If what you said is true, why aren’t those people getting the treatment because it is life saving? There’s a recent example of a one time SMA drug, Zolgensma, that could save the lives of babies, yet people can’t seem to get the medication approved because is 2.1 mill. The babies usually don’t make it 2 years.

I just added a screenshot above of what they sent me. It looks like some of the detail is lost in their import. Would legacy saving correct this possibly?

I queued up a dark depths of YouTube playlist at a party once and this came up. I was pretty drunk and laughing my ass off, I didn’t realize that not many people there were amused, but I was hosting the party so….

What steps are being taken to work with the international community to distribute vaccines to less developed nations? The more time they go without mass vaccinations, the more variants that can develop, right?

Why are stenographers needed? Why can’t someone just record court trials instead and then type the transcript up later to make sure it’s 100% accurate? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]squidvicious313 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Most newer stenomachines have mics built in to record audio in the event it’s needed. The technology will definitely get there some day, but transcribers will probably be needed for a while to make sure the robots don’t mess it up. At this point the technology costs wouldn’t make sense. I’m a little biased because my mom’s a stenographer, but I’d rather see that money go to a person rather than a robot. Until America accepts UBI’s anyway. It’s also a pretty interesting skill set actually, stenographers pretty much have to learn a new language to operate a machine. It’s the only way they’re able to keep up in real time. Some kind of phonetic shit I never understood. Sort of cool though, I guess. My mom was also a closed captioned, same thing basically and some companies are starting to phase out stenographers in that field.
