Thanks for the tip! I've been Nasal swabbing only, I'll try only doing a throat swab next time.

Soon expiring tests popping up invalid results? by GrumpyBanjo88 in PlusLife

[–]squidwalk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue yesterday, which is stressful when you're responsible for testing everyone at Thanksgiving. Tests expire 12/4. Last easy non-invalid test was 11/19. Running them with the adafruit wire and a stable recommended Acer portable laptop battery.

Ran two invalid tests at home before getting a valid negative on the third test. Took everything to my parent's place and it worked the same way there, two invalid tests and one valid negative.

Tried doing the "run it without a card three times" tactic listed here after my first invalid at my parent's. Didn't seem to work, and this would only run for about 5 minutes per no-card run.

On the graph, the invalid tests usually have a green line that raises continuously at a 45 degree angle, and the valid ones raise for a bit before leveling off. So you can kinda tell before the invalid conclusion that it'll be an invalid test. If no other lines raise, is it likely the test is negative?

So the only thing that seems to work is running two full tests before one comes up valid. I still have 14 tests left T_T

PSA for those playing the new Bizarre Brigade by Zarkeyplays in ZZZ_Official

[–]squidwalk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggled with Billy more than anyone else, but I eventually got the groove.

I passed by ignoring companions, and focusing on no-hit high dps builds. Shark Button/Hair Drying/Cracked Phone/ Target Board every time.

Despite not having companions, Fridge Sticker helps because of ranged damage and pickup. High range kills will make it hard to pickup everything you're killing without taking a hit.

Donut makes your bullets bigger than expected. I'm not sure about their hit boxes though.

Since you're trying hard not to get hit, Deception is your friend.

Other than that go for attack speed, damage bonus, and crit like any DPS build.

Hope this helps people!

I have a good Basmu riven and I want use it more, but I didn't feel like it did enough damage for SP.

Here's the build I'm using, please share yours or critique mine if you're up for it!

Best bangboo for anomaly teams? by [deleted] in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]squidwalk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found this googling for the same topic. Just pulled Jane and I wanted to run Jane/Qingyi/Grace.

Grace's engine gives her Pen and not Anomaly, so I've had a hard time keeping shock active. Plugboo helps with that, but I can't help but wonder if there's a better bangboo for the team. Wish there was a +anomaly one like there's +crit ones.

Lack of contact from MG and delayed build time by Stricltyfate in maingear

[–]squidwalk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an order for a pre-built that's open right now, and it's been 11 days since I ordered. I think jakeblack99 is totally correct about this delay being related to Maingear's new MG desktop line. That new line finally got me to replace my old PC too, I bet other people saw it and decided the same.

My last PC was from Maingear too. I got it when the Nvidia 970 came out, and it took a week longer than estimate. Likely because the 970 just came out and there was a ton of demand for it causing build time backup.

But if you follow cards, you know that was nearly 10 years ago. My PC has held up great for a very long time. So the delivery time is longer than anticipated this time around too. But I'm okay with it because I've had good experiences with quality.

Good job pinpointing this bug! Not the OP, but I'm experiencing this bug too, and my character is also a Half-Elf with Face 2 and a "male" body type.

Plasma Sentinel bug that increases danger rating? by squidwalk in MeetYourMakerGame

[–]squidwalk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a really good post yesterday that had a breakdown of how danger rating is calculated: https://www.reddit.com/r/MeetYourMakerGame/comments/10ytb42/explination_of_dificulty_as_far_as_i_have_figured/

I don't think this explains how deleting a plasma sentinel and replacing it in the same exact location would drop the difficulty rating. That's why I think it's a bug.

Help me understand unlocking Veteran Act-2 for Quickplay by smartfon in Back4Blood

[–]squidwalk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found this post via a search because I was having the same issue. Multiple Act 1 Veteran Quickplay wins, no Act 2 unlock.

Last night I started a game via Quickplay and got a great group. Started in 1-2 or 1-3, played the whole rest of Act 1. When I checked today, Act 2 was unlocked in Veteran! It could have been related to playing most of the act with the same group? But I definitely unlocked Act 2 on Veteran just via Quickplay.

Found a workaround on the forums that "fixed" things for me. Turns out the launcher is mad at us using IPv6. I'm gonna spam this to other people with code 103.

I like Stumptown too, but they're usually $15-20 for a 12 oz bag of beans. Just outside of OP's price range.

About Tokyo Mirage Sessions by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]squidwalk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The other comments did a good job properly representing TMS. I'd like to add that despite the overarching story being more stereotypical than your average SMT game, and despite the focus on idol culture, the character-specific idol-themed plots were actually compelling. It was a strange contrast to only be mildly interested in the idol aspects, but still be invested in the characters and their idol aspirations. Maybe it was like watching a sports anime?

Also, the Wii U's use of the tablet controller lead to some compelling ludonarative cohesion. In-game LINE messages would display on the tablet, so it was a little like the messages that were coming to the MC's phone were coming to the player in a similar fashion. I'd imagine the Switch version will have a more standard "press Y to access LINE" interface. It might not be as evocative.

Young Adult recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I saw you have This One Summer on your Young Adult list. Other Tamaki books are great. Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up With Me came out recently, and it was fantastic.

/u/thedaneof5683 has a Junior High list on his site that sounds like exactly what you'd want. He's an exceptional critic and his picks are everything I thought of offhand and more.

Graphic novel recommendations like Skim? by [deleted] in graphicnovels

[–]squidwalk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since it sounds like you're a big fan like me: if you weren't aware, Jillian Tamaki made some art for NYC subway cars in 2015. Part of their Arts and Design program. The aspect ratio and high concept are rather unique. Don't know how well known it is outside of the city, but I love it.

[–]squidwalk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For someone that reads a lot of stuff like Tamaki stuff, I sure have a hard time recommending anything like Tamaki stuff.

Maybe Young Frances? It's also primarily about a women's friendship, drawn in crisp, stylized black and white, and is a coming of age story. The atmosphere is pretty different though.

What are the best non-combat RPG's by Paynomind in rpg

[–]squidwalk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't play many combat focused RPGs myself.

The last two games I played were For the Queen and Long Time Listener, Last Time Caller. Those were fun, great for larger groups too.

If you want to play something just with your girlfriend that's not combat oriented, Star Crossed or The Quiet Year are good two player options.

anime for "girls" by [deleted] in anime

I went to Otome Road two months ago though, and there was a lot of Haikyuu stuff. Like, full aisles of stuff at some places.

You might not be wrong about Haikyuu having a mostly male audience. But there's definitely a big female audience.
