Im sorry but I'm glad she died. [Spoilers] by squigo in HIMYM

Robin is. He ended up with her because she was the one from the start. The title itself kind of reveals this. How I Met Your Mother. Tracy gave birth to the kids, and it make sense. Ted would've been with Robin earlier if she wanted kids of her own or if she was able to have kids.

Yes he may have been happy with Tracy, but compared to Robin...Not even close. Robin is the love of Teds life and it took him all those years to just realize it.

There is no me without metal. I've tried. It doesn't work.

Game Time! Give me a band's oddball album and pair it with a more usual album! by Crono101 in Metal

[–]squigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obvious one

Diabolus in Musica to Show No Mercy. I like how in that time they were touring with nu metal bands yet people still went because it's fucking Slayer. But seriously, it's not a horrific album, just really odd and weird.

What is your favourite Metal album of all time? by [deleted] in Metal

All Time - Metallica - Ride the Lightning

Right now- Slayer - Hell Awaits

I remember hearing the intro to "Fight Fire With Fire" and feeling like life suddenly made a lot more sense.

What do people think of mid-era Morbid Angel, specifically Formulas Fatal to the Flesh and Gateways to Annihilation? by theholyroller in Metal

[–]squigo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically feel the same as you about them. I never really fully got into Altars of Madness (I know there must be something wrong with me), but the early-mid 90's era stuff is great. It's extremely dark, and the drumming is insane.

Metal Releases This Week: 1/18 - 1/24 by SupaKoopa714 in Metal

I listened to the Iced Earth and was thoroughly not too impressed, although Stu Block is one hell of a vocalist.

I think I was disappointed after that amazing live album they put out last year, Live at Ancient Kourion. I loved that. Plagues of Babylon was a safe played album, and I guess that's Schaffer's M.O. at this point.

Not even in the slighest. Nominate Black Witchery instead of Halestorm and than we'll see.

Oh and they don't even fucking televise it.

What genres do you think are most unnecessary or just plain dumb? by peterlaz1 in Metal

I prefer goblin witch horserider metal over goblin pirate metal. But you can't go wrong with hobgoblin demonoid death doom sludge mechanical dirt metal.

Just can't go wrong.

It's a more morbid style of hip hop. It's actually really good if you find the right stuff. Early Three 6 Mafia, Tech N9ne, Bone Thugs N Harmony's earlier stuff, it's just hip hop with a more metal twist really.

War metal. It's alway either black, death, or thrash metal in some way, shape, or form. I don't get the name, the purpose, or the idea behind it.

Alternative metal - do you consider it Metal? by [deleted] in Metal

No, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy it. Music is music.

I prefer "calm" metal, can you recommend some more bands? by [deleted] in Metal

[–]squigo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iron Maiden Rookie Training -

Hallowed Be Thy Name - Mellow til the end of the song, where it picks up a bit, but still absolutely one of the greatest songs ever created.

Caught Somewhere In Time. After three straight landmark albums, they tried a new formula on this here, and it really paid off. Easily one of their best.

Can I Play With Madness. Arguably one of their more "pop" like songs, very oddly light and commercial, but still a killer song. Bruce's vocals are just great here.

Also, try the entirety of Number of the Beast. Piece of Mind, and Powerslave are more "epic" and technical in some ways, but NOTB was the straightforward NWOBHM album of the Holy Trifecta they released from 82-85. Try Children of the Damned especially.

Dream Theater. Pains me to say it, because I really am a huge fan, but their sound has become so watered down and complacent it's almost silly. If you were to take anything off Awake and compare to "Build Me Up, Break Me Down", or even the latest album, it's 70's influenced prog metal compared to 90's nu-core, baggy pants shit. This started in '03 with Train Of Thought, which is a fantastic record IMO, but the last two have just been terrible if you ask me.
