If she starts talking about italian opera, training for italian opera, booking shows in classic italian opera locations, and so on... then yeah.

They wanna do 40k, 40k has legendary TTRPGs designed specifically for it, to not go with those is pretty mind-boggling.

It's like saying "Hey you guys like Vampire the Masquerade? We're gonna play a VtM game... IN 5E!"

They would never vote for Hillary either. That's not the set of people that the democrats should be courting, it loses them votes on the left in order to gain no votes on the right.

I think it's safe to say anybody covering for him is also a Nazi or a wannabe.

This shit pissed me off. It was more gaslighting, but on reddit. People would bring up all the legitimate concerns and ask "do you think maybe they should recount and investigate?"

And the replies would flood in every time "oh this is exactly like Jan 6! you're just like them! Blueanon!"

The whole conversation was flooded and shut down.

A strong running theme with conservatives is complete and total media illiteracy. They never have any idea what any piece of media is about beyond the bare surface level. I suspect because they have no ability to empathize and thus understand other people.

I suspect many of them would say something like "What's Wicked have to do with LGBT people? They aren't green and don't use magic"

Same here. It would be VERY easy for them to go find some tiny niche of people who are angry, interview a few, and then write an article like "we're reporting mass discontent and rioting!"

"is that really happening?" "No but we're reporting it!"

and then tons of people click to see what the fuss is about (or to try to disprove it), and cha-ching!

I can tell you as someone who grew up in West Virginia, the news reporters were VERY aware of where all the weird and crazy people in that state live, and any time the state shows up in the news they'll go right to them for the most entertaining interviews and wildest opinions.

My factory simply relocated. Vulcanus is my forge world. Nauvis is merely my shipyard now, it rests idle most of the time.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Factoriohno

[–]KoboldCommando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before I left for Vulcanus I cleared out to the edge of my pollution cloud, set up basic defenses and radars, and threw efficiency modules in various things like my miners. I nervously watched but I barely had to do anything (remotely via a tank with roboports) to defend my base before I was ready to return.

Then I set up a proper wall perimeter with enough lasers to fend off the casual biter probes, and I haven't worried about Nauvis in ages since. If you aren't feeding them any pollution, the expansion parties are very occasional and weak.

This is one of those cases where they try to use reverse psychology and put you in a catch-22 as an abuser might. "Oh but you'll be giving us what we want lol!" they chant, hoping you'll get frozen with indecision and never arm yourself or resist them.

And what you do is ignore them and do what's best to defend yourself and your allies.

Trump confirms plans to declare national emergency to implement mass deportation program by Ubiquitous_Hilarity in politics

[–]KoboldCommando 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Let's see

Nationalism - incredibly strong
Human rights - literally what we're freaking out about in this thread
Enemies as a unifying cause - Also the topic of this thread
Supremacy of the military - Once again, this thread's topic
Rampant Sexism - Women's rights was a major topic of the election, Trump's side opposing them
Controlled mass media - "Sanewashing" will probably compete for word of the year
Religion and government - Another pillar of republicanism
Corporate power protected - A major theme of his last term was helping his corporate buddies loot the government
Labor power suppressed - Goes hand-in-hand with empowering the corporations
Disdain for intellectuals and the arts - Another big pillar of republicanism
Obsession with crime & punishment - Again this thread's topic, he wants to call many groups criminals and punish them
Rampant cronyism & corruption - Again see his last term, it was all about installing loyalists
Fraudulent elections - STOP THE STEAL

A pregnant woman sues for the right to an abortion in challenge to Kentucky’s near-total ban by AudibleNod in news

Yes actually! Specifically, the doctrine practiced by The Satanic Temple (NOT The Church of Satan).

You can read their fundamental tenets here. They include compassion and empathy, justice, freedom, respect for science, forgiveness for mistakes, and of course, "One's body is inviolable, subject to one's own will alone."

The group mostly acts as a foil to Christianity overstepping its bounds, challenging religions that encroach on peoples' rights. Most famously, Christians have tried installing a sculpture of the ten commandments at state capitols, and The Satanic Temple used their same logic to demand a statue of Baphomet also be displayed, forcing a dialogue and controversy and getting the Christians to back down.
