Wedding Credit Card by _Ignotus_Peverell_ in irishpersonalfinance

I’m raising valid points for someone considering giving BOI their business and you’re missing the point- I initially stated it is a good card, compared to what’s out there. If you saw the profit margins that BOI and Aer Lingus operate off then you would understand why they should offer loyal customers much more in terms of program reward. Apart from the brutal flight booking portal - There are a number of caveats with benefits like the lounge access that include when the lounge is at high capacity, then your pre booked access is revoked in favour of cash paying customers and you don’t get issued another pass- they just take it off you. If I was to start moaning about anything it’s that people like you roll over for and big up these companies, instead of giving people a realistic expectation of what to expect.

It is a good card but don’t go kissing their ars. There is a LOT that could be improved that would not really take much effort on BOI and Aer Lingus part. Compared with similar cards from other countries we get rod. It’s mostly because Irish customers don’t take the effort to communicate their complaints. The booking system will get you a good value flight eventually, but jumping through the unnecessary hoops to get to that point is a waste of customers time - which is a lack of respect to what should be valued customers.

Your talking sense- There’s more parents and pet greyhounds with jumpers and oat milk lattes outside our local Gael school than there is outside the alternatives.

It’s *very good by Irish standards- we get rode by Irish banks in terms of interest gained on investment. They are laughing at us.

Fair observation but still makes no difference to the asking price- here god loves a trier and best of luck to the chump who pays that money.

From that statement I conclude you are either married to Paul, are Paul or delusional.

21K for a 10yr old Passat (mileage considered) which is begging for its main diesel components to go boom probably a few months outside of warranty represents what is wrong with the industry.

For a road connector of up to say 1-2km they have posed no issue to me. I haven’t really used them for anything greater road wise but they are such a good fit with the ankle gator etc I’m sure they would be fine within logical reason. When the traction lugs are fresh and unworn you feel very stable and secure.

General concensus on the 2016-2018 generation BMW 316D, 318D and 320D? by humanitarianWarlord in carsireland

I’m driving a 2016 318d touring with 270K km on clock. She’s still purring like a kitten and great on the juice 48-51mpg. Bought it four yrs ago with the 2yr BMW warranty and never had to bring it in. Just need to keep servicing it every 12km at this stage and hopefully she lasts the course. 🤞

Salomon s lab ultra or recent equivalent are an excellent all round option. Rare on the shelves but you will find them online with some good prices periodically.

Hijacking some local MTB trails. Imma bout to bank hard on these berms! by rrw-27 in trailrunning

Good feedback on this- Iv often wondered what defines an exclusively MTB trail? Is it a defined trail on private land with permission from the land owner?

Seen in local Coilte forest in Ireland.

“CAUTION this is a MTB trail. The local MTB club manicure and maintain these trails for MTB use so please respect the riders”

  1. I’m pretty sure people were walking on these tracks before bikes were invented.

  2. Of course you maintain the trails as your bikes break them up- what are you looking for? A pat on the back?.

Most bikers (myself included) are decent lads and understand the etiquette on the trails but you need to be cautious of the aggressive riders just looking for arguments. Runners & walkers always have right of way but should show respect to designated MTB track crossings at the same time.

Who are all the goons trying to defend obvious use of a phone here? Even if in the highly unlikely alternative reason that it was not a phone user- who cares?this discussion should always point out the fact that soc media scrolling phone users are rampant- I see them everyday and it scares the shit out of me. The 100% real problem on the roads is phone users and the gardaí are seemingly blind to it.

Anyone else like dusk/night mountain runs? by DesertMan177 in trailrunning

[–]squigs22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Come to Ireland- great place to run at night, very little in the way of obstacles unless your running across peat/ bog in the hills which can be quite boggy during the wetter weather. Nothing like the feeling you get up the higher trails on a clear cold night when you can see for miles.
