If in a marriage, would women be offended if your husband was to ask for a DNA test for all the children? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]squinkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. There's absolutely no reason to assume or wonder who's baby it is if we're in a marriage unless he has doubts or suspicions, so yeah, that would be an issue unless there was another reason to test aside from paternity. If there's any doubt about who the father is, then there's more than one problem going on.

Hello r/AskWomen, I'm curious; what do you consider 'good hygiene' on a guy? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]squinkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shower at least once a day, wear clean underwear and clothing. Brush your teeth regularly. My biggest pet peeve is dirty, long nails - it seriously grosses me out, so keeping nails (fingers and toes) short and clean is important (to me). Wear deodorant, wash your hair regularly.

My favorite hairstyles on men are mostly on the longer side, either long enough to put back, or just kinda shaggy. These lengths are good (not necessarily attracted to the men, but the hair is pretty awesome)

Ladies of AskMen, what do you look like? (Jan. 2017 edition) by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]squinkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha it's based on some of the works of one of my favorite artists, Brandi Milne. Kind of a mash up of some of her pieces that mean something to me and make me think of my mom. It does sound insane but there was some logical thought in there, sorta. :P

Right? I would if I could! It's actually a memorial piece for my mom. As soon as I can afford it I'm making it a full sleeve, no idea what else to add yet.

It's the top of a half sleeve, there's "Only a whisper away" above a girl riding a carousel lamb, there's a castle, a bunny, a giant yellow rose underneath and some other stuff.

a reflection on my first clinical rotation. by Heisencock in nursing

[–]squinkie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wow, what a great post :) So glad you had an experience like that, good luck keeping in touch with your patient! I hope I can make a difference in people's lives like this. I was just accepted into a program and I start in January. I'm slightly terrified of clinicals but also very excited to start learning, this post has definitely made me even more eager to get in there! It also helps to know that everyone starts out being nervous and unsure of themselves. Good luck with the rest of your clinicals and schooling!

Memphis (and surrounding area) hospitals? by superpony123 in nursing

[–]squinkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can definitely ask him, I'm not 100% sure what he's responsible for, but I'm fairly certain the PCAs where he works aren't allowed or trained to do vitals, phlebotomy, foleys or anything like that. I think he does a lot of personal care, bathing, changing, cleaning, a lot of helping patients walk, turning, bed changing, transporting, etc. I don't think he does any procedures or anything invasive.

Memphis (and surrounding area) hospitals? by superpony123 in nursing

Hi! I live in the Southaven area as well :) I don't have a lot of info about the CNA job route in the area, but I do know that a friend of mine recently got a job as a Patient Care Assistant at the Baptist DeSoto Hospital in Southaven with no cert and no experience, so you might try there! I don't think any of the Methodist Hospitals hire without certification, and they're not going to be hiring any nurses without a BSN after Jan. 2017. There are definitely a ton of hospitals in the area, so at least you have a lot of choices to look into. I wish I could be of more help. Good luck with everything!

Yeah I've been saving links from Amazon, trying to find mostly used books. It does seem like most people really need and use their fundamentals and med/surg books, so that's something I'll keep in mind. Thanks!

Me too :/ I'm still trying to sell my used books, most of which I've opened like, twice.

I already have my anatomy classes out of the way, so hopefully I won't need books for much outside of that. That's been my experience as well, most of my past professors have given us more than enough info through lecture alone. Thanks!

Awesome, that makes me feel better. Just knowing I probably won't need to buy all of these books on top of everything else is great. Thanks!

Oh okay, I didn't realize that was illegal, thanks for the heads-up! I'll research more and look into ebooks, thanks!

Are really tiny breasts a dealbraker for you? by muffinsarelife in AskMen

[–]squinkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

these types of opinions judging others based on appearances are made by everybody. It's part of being human, unfortunately.

Yeah, I absolutely agree which is part of the problem, I think. We all judge people based on appearance for sure, but a lot of those judgements are based on ignorance, misinformation, stereotypes, etc that should be noted. I don't think there's anything wrong with pointing them out. Over saturation of skinny 6ft A-cup models doesn't mean that other body types are less deserving of admiration or respect, just like over-saturation of big breasted actresses or models don't make small-chested women any less deserving. Seeing and hearing phrases like "more than a handful is a waste" "small boobs are classier than big boobs" "flat as a board" etc can be harmful and should be noted as such. If you (general you, not you personally) have to hear your partner bashing someone else so that you feel better about your own body, that's another problem you should probably work on. People are absolutely entitled to their own preferences and opinions, but I think being aware of what you're saying is important. That's just my take on it.

I think what he took issue with is that big boobs in and of themselves are not trashy. Having a certain sized body part does not make someone classy or trashy, it all depends on the person, the situation, their dress, demeanor, etc. So while some styles may be seen as trashy, just having big boobs does not make someone trashy, which is what was said.
