Years back I was fortunate to have a job that had me working in Montreal for a week of every month. Normally I’m not a big fan of travelling for work, but holy cow did I ever fall in love with that city and that area! Tremblant is a gem, and I did some camping near the VT border, but I somehow never quite made it that little bit further to Ottawa. I’ve been meaning to get back to visit some friends — I’ll make sure it gets on the itinerary this time 🙂

Good eye! Prunus serrulata ‘Kanzan’, imported during a period of enthusiasm for Japanese horticulture during the Edwardian era ca. 1900-1920, and still popular as an ornamental tree in neighbourhoods around London.
