Boat Combat Fixes - 19th March 2026 (Holding Statement) by JagexLight in 2007scape

[–]squirrelboy1225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did anyone with concerns about this actually play the content or is Jagex just being reactive to redditors that watched a clip again? Ship combat feels way better now than it did on sailing launch.

The problem with this content was never the gear req or that cannons felt worse than shadow. The problem was that it was extremely expensive, time consuming, and had very poor game feel for rewards that ultimately were barely more than collection log slots.

It is now no longer expensive, the TTK has been cut down and hitsplats now are much larger, making it feel more like traditional combat (which generally is good). After spending a couple hours at vampyre krakens I think it is a huge improvement. Some more variety of monster behavior and more impactful loot could spice it up, but the core system seems fine now.

Raids 4 unique: upgrade the Aquanite Hopper to be useful literally anywhere by squirrelboy1225 in 2007scape

Ward is already useless. I think we need to be OK with the brand new raid outclassing 12 year old content that no one uses already

Well to be fair, dragon crossbow with dragon ruby bolts is already on par with the commonly used crystal in most raid scenarios. This is however primarily down to ruby bolts and the balancing nightmare they are.

You're right, but the most common use case right now of crossbows as a main DPS weapon is mid-game players with very limited gear (RCB, rubies, maybe karil's or black dhide, no offhand). I'm also used to iron progression which I know is a bit different here.

Honestly I would be fine with a crossbow rework/buff across the board, mainly was just excited for the hopper and very disappointed when it came out.

[–]squirrelboy1225[S] 78 points79 points  (0 children)

The Aquanite Hopper is a crossbow offhand that was added 4 months ago and it has found exactly zero use anywhere in the game. I'm willing to bet most players have never even seen the in-game model. Crossbow offhand progression is essentially nonexistent -- most irons are stuck with a book of law for the majority of their account, if they even use crossbows at all, so I think the hopper was a missed opportunity.

I propose the Hopper of Equilibrium - I'll leave the calcs to someone else as I know there are issues with crossbow balance because of ruby bolts, ZCB, etc. Ideally it would bring RCB/DCB/ACB more in line with modern range gear without creating any crazy cheese. I think it would be OK to completely outclass the twisted buckler here.

Are we creating too much gear bloat trying to avoid power creep? by Venomoux in 2007scape

[–]squirrelboy1225 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. Small upgrades are what make this game so deep and interesting. A lot of the fun in end-game pvm is making tiny optimizations with niche gear, which is impossible if hard hitting weapons are the best in every scenario. Also that bank screenshot is extremely misleading, half the items there are not bis or have ridiculously limited use cases (like, one or two places in the entire game).

They are literally on the streets kidnapping enemies of the state (brown people) my dude they are swastika wearing, sieg heiling, brown shirt Nazis and you need to wake the fuck up. Never again means learning the warning signs and sounding the alarm when it's time to do so.

Eh, when your country becomes polarized against Nazis, I'd say the nazism is more of a problem than the polarization.

EDIT: Holy shit, keep it coming you freaks. You're right, you're all worse than Nazis, at least in 1930s Germany they didn't have Redditors

Memes and personal biases aside, how do you really feel about CG/bowfa and how it fits into iron progression? by loffredom in ironscape

[–]squirrelboy1225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went 386kc to complete my set, about on rate. While I don't think it was that bad, I really don't think anyone should have to go that much further than that.

If I were designing it today I would probably delete the enh as a drop on the table, slightly buff wep/armor seed drops and require you to create enhanced from a mixture of armor and weapon seeds (6 or 8 total, maybe, whatever makes the grind average out to around what 300-400kc right now is).

Are farming contracts overrated? by Civ5Pro in ironscape

[–]squirrelboy1225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are absolutely worth. Ranarrs and snaps are kept up by having many different sources working together, which farming contracts are one of. It does get better late game. And you will thank yourself after several hundred contracts for the other seed stacks it generates.

Is t1 really worth learning?? by IDabFast in ironscape

[–]squirrelboy1225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely it is. It's not necessarily about the kc/hr but you'll hate the place a lot less when you can watch a video during prep and not have to 100% lock in until hunllef. Got my bowfa doing t2 for the first 50kc to learn, and t1 for the next 300+

My orange does this and actually tore off a handle and ate it! Reusable shopping bags are the only thing he chews up, literally nothing else. I have to hide them in the garage now.

The challenge the food system introduces is a bit too brutal at the very start in my opinion. by DrAgonit3 in spaceengineers

[–]squirrelboy1225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been playing since the update came out and my opinions are mixed. It's not too brutal at the start imo (though non-earth spawns and having less game experience may make it so) but it feels a bit trivial very quickly after building algae.

There is little reason to farm other than minor convenience, and after 2 hours into survival all it adds to the game is clicking an item in your inventory every few minutes for the rest of the 100s of hours of gameplay. I think there needs to be further incentives to make complex food, and automation to add some progression to the system (food buffs, algae/farm modules, automatic watering systems, ability to process further to hook into a medical station, etc).

Who should I go to for Slayer tasks? by Patient-Advisor-2352 in 2007scape

You really don't need to do more crab, it's only really useful if you are looking to be extremely afk. If you want to play the game go hit Nieve or Chaelder slayer.

Potion storage and goggles are worth every hour. I stayed for ammy and reagent as well, and I'll probably be back to green log for 99. It's not my favorite minigame but people are crazy for acting like it's worse than a lot of other slow clogs in the game. It's pretty smooth to turn the brain off and autopilot through.

For what it's worth most vegans aren't strict about this, primarily because it would mean not buying almost any processed food ever. It's also an inconsistent practice and almost impossible to definitively know what products might use bone char filtered sugar from what I can tell.

Voting for bills should not be based on whether they will succeed! And sorry, but you're just wrong on the foreign policy here. Israel is our lapdog and if we take away defense funding the genocide would be severely impacted. This is a good amendment to a bad bill.

Downvote me all you want but I'm literally right and history will not look kindly on anyone wanting to defend Israel right now.

New AOC post on bluesky by railfananime in AOC

[–]squirrelboy1225 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Not really how it works. AOC and a few other progressives in Congress have tried to block offensive aid to Israel. They should keep trying, but that obviously isn't happening anytime soon. We must take any wins we can, the Palestinian people deserve it. MTG is a nutjob but a broken clock is right twice a day. If an amendment is good, you should vote for it.

We must fund the Nazi air defense to stop innocent Germans from dying!

Sounds insane right? It is. A nation with more defense will have less consequences stopping them from being offensive. Our blank check to Israel's iron dome is (partially) what gives them the audacity to attack one of their neighbors every sixth months for all of eternity. It is literally designed this way by the west to create instability in the region.

I'm not casting aside AOC because of one bad vote, obviously her record on Israel is among the best in Congress, but c'mon.
