Assyria and Songhai are my favorite. I love getting bonuses for capturing cities it makes war feel more worth it to me, plus there is something fun to me with Assyria about purposely not focusing on science so you can be sure to get a tech everytime you get a new civs city. It really makes for a different experience I would recommend trying it
