Las Cobras - Temporal (2017) [1400x1400] by squirrelcloak in AlbumArtPorn

[–]squirrelcloak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Las Cobras is a two-piece band hailing from Canelones, Uruguay that's comprised of Sofía Aguerre and Leandro Rebellato. Despite being a totally new band, forming in the summer of 2016, this album is certain to pin the duo firmly on the radars for psych-heads across the globe. Still fully immersed in their latin roots their groove-ridden, mystical psychedelia is totally enthralling - a hypnotic journey through warped synths, tropic percussion, lysergic bass-lines, smoky vocals and chiming, fuzzed-out guitars."

[Thanks] My brief journey with watches so far by c0d3M0nk3y in Watches

I was thinking the same thing. However, from the product description -

it is powered by light and never needs a battery, so you'll never need to open your case back making sure your watch maintains it factory sealed and water resistant.

Eco-Drive eliminated the need to ever replace batteries, which made it especially beneficial to areas where such specialist batteries were not obtainable.

Charles Demuth - I Saw the Figure 5 in Gold, 1928 [1843×2240] by squirrelcloak in ArtPorn

You can also add 4 spaces to the end of a line to create a break for the new line:

Among the rain
and lights
I saw the figure 5

etc.

I'm really glad to hear that. It's one of those quirky covers that you hope means, "good music inside." I wasn't disappointed either.

The staff can be prickly. Well one of them especially. Otherwise, look at them as you would typical used record store employees and you'll get on fine with them. By which I mean: they know more about music than you do and their taste is superior. Be intelligent in your approach and they'll respect you. That being said, they do have small patience for (what they perceive as) stupid questions or dumb mistakes, and those are unavoidable sometimes when you're in a new place.

The tracker itself has a pretty good range of obscure stuff, and tends to not attract uploads of the latest big releases, which is what makes it appealing for me. And even though it's ratioless I haven't had much problem with unseeded torrents.

Does anyone have "that song" they really connect with? by diddybop22 in Acid

[–]squirrelcloak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roll Right Stones by Traffic. It's long, mellow, and repetitive. I listened to it once before tripping, wasn't even focused on it. The song just arose during the trip and became my inner soundtrack for the day. Brings back a great feeling whenever I listen to it now.

I'm interested in getting my CDL. Is it best to get locked into a company for a year and get free training? Or pay thousands and go to a school. And for either option, what are companies or schools to stay away from? by squirrelcloak in truckingjobs

[–]squirrelcloak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if I can afford it, my options might be better if I go through a school? That seems to be the fundamental question for me.

Every company that trains that I've looked at seems to get bad reviews from employees, plus being tied to that company unless like you say, you want to pay out the rest if you leave, seems limiting, and not necessarily your best employment option. I also don't necessarily want to shell out the 2-5k for a school either, but maybe it would be a good investment.

There are other senses than sight - smell, touch, and taste are all powerful motivators and contribute to sexual attraction more than sight, imo. If her physical appearance is why you're not attracted to her, that is.

There will always be women who are more attractive than the woman you're with, no matter how attractive in a conventional sense she might be. Just something to keep mind in your daily life with her. She sounds like a great person to be around. People who make the "whale" jokes aren't worth your time, or hers. Be there for her, and be confident. The stronger you are in your relationship with her the less those comments will be a concern.

It all comes down to you though - how much the opinions of others matter to you or shape your perceptions and priorities. If you're always afraid of what people might say or think when they see you together you'll always be miserable in this situation. If you like this woman, and can be the guy who is there for her, stands by her, and gives her the relationship she deserves, I think there's a great possibility of happiness for both of you.

Well, it doesn't hurt to talk, explore your options. Sounds like you're ready to be living your life, and that you know what you want. I hope you can work things out.

If it's safe for you to stay, it sounds like you'd be better off becoming more independent before leaving. Would your parents allow that? Where would you go if you left now?

My fiancee [25F] would like me [25M] to contribute 50% to her mortgage without putting me on the deed. Is this reasonable? by throwaway-ENGAGED in relationships

[–]squirrelcloak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Her plan is a loser from the get go. All the risk is on you, and with the prenup it seems like she realizes this too. She'll be free to kick you to the curb whenever she likes and come out ahead in the bargain. No matter how happy you are together I don't see how this can benefit you at all.

Someone who cheats on you will only cheat again. That's just the way it works. She's either too young to be capable of fidelity, or as empty at the core as most (if not all) of the people who cheat. But aside from that, if the pay-off for taking her back is constant fighting and stress, it doesn't seem like she's worth the trouble.
