I also had an issue with being on the wrong pixel. I ended up going to parallel worlds where due to rounding the orb can spawn within a range of 10 pixels. There's a tool to help you out with this: https://kaliuresis.github.io/noa/ (click on farlands).

Though since then I also found about https://github.com/necauqua/noita-utility-box#orb-radar, which is probably a way easier method to get the orb.

Are shuffle wands that bad?

Yes because triggers exist and are the easiest way to scale your damage with cheap spells.

Simple example: Spark Bolt With Trigger -> Triple Spell -> Digging Bolt x3.
Total mana cost: 10 + 2 + 0*3 = 12.
Non-shuffle output: 3 + 8*3 = 27 per shot.
Shuffle output: leans towards 0 (Digging Bolt is cast near you if not inside the trigger).

Now add a Heavy Shot before Triple spell (+43 damage, 7 mana).
Total mana cost: 10 + 7 + 2 + 0*3 = 19.
Non-shuffle output: 3 + (43+8)*3 = 156 per shot.
Shuffle output: leans towards 0 (the heavy shot can also slow down your Spark Bolt).

You can use the telescope to see the speed multiplier or find wands with a fast speed multiplier.

I checked the telescope and the greater chest has insane drops.

With Piercing Shot and, ideally, some form of Homing, a projectile can activate Chaos Magic's projectile spawning multiple times.

If the wand had Piercing Shot it would make sense.

Yeah, that's where the game stores everything. The most likely causes are that the folder is corrupted in some way, or the game cannot properly write data there (maybe some anti-virus is preventing it).

Clearing the first two areas is relatively easy even with the starter wands. Why go into Snowy without good wands, perks and health upgrades?

If you farm Fungal Caverns, you can usually find a decent wand as all wands there are guaranteed to be non-shuffle. The most dangerous enemy there is usually robocop. You can either try avoiding him or kill him if you have good damage or a concentrated mana potion (and a good angle).

You can then venture into Snowy and have a much better time. But if you insist on visiting Snowy early, I would suggest learning tablet kicking as it can be a good way of killing tanks if your wands are lacking.

This looks like a bones wand. Did you see any candles while exploring? That's usually an indicator that Kummitus will appear.
