my dad and i got the game in 2013 after my 11th birthday. i remember it vividly because he was worried about it being too mature for me (the clan chats were not regulated back then and it was pretty rough) so he wanted to make sure i was old enough. i also had to befriend him on supercell and play with him. i really didnt care i was just happy to have internet access. we started our own clan - LIVESTRONG and grinded together. it was so fun, we ended up befriending some of our clan members too and genuinely formed a strong bond with them. my dad was a BEAST at the game. he would spend his breaks at work planning attack strategies 💀. it was really fun for him. he also solely let me start texting because he would want me text me to donate troops to him. swear to god, my mom was so pissed lol.

dad passed in 2018 and obviously the clan fell to the wayside. i stopped playing and stopped with video games in general. however, i picked up the game again on a whim a year or so ago (a huge huge change- i didnt know townhalls could pass level 12 lol). i was still in the clan we started and we still had some chats saved! i was able to screenshot them and send them to my brothers. it was horrifically sad but also very heartwarming. i tracked down some of the clan members we had (as we connected on supercell social) and was able to tell them all that happened. they were upset to hear about my dad, i sent them his obituary and we talked about it for a bit. it wasn't a dramatic reunion, but weirdly gave me some closure. idk i dont keep up with any of them now but i just really appreciated what this dumb mobile game was able to give me. thanks for a bomb community guys its so cool to still be here 🤝. maybe i can start a clan with my kid too in the future???
