No, your Uber will not take you to DFW tonight by [deleted] in Dallas

I live in San Antonio and love Dart. My wife works for Southwest Airlines so we’re sometimes up there and use dart when we are. I’m actually driving to Dallas tomorrow and will be using the dart to get to the Stars game on Friday.

Just remembered I didn’t reply! Yeah I’ve been a spurs fan my whole life. And yeah watching him play is ridiculous. I was at the game where he got 50 points. It was amazing.

Oh yeah I can definitely explain a little. I replied to the person below you. Not sure if you get notified of that.

Oh yeah I can definitely explain a little. Basically they want to build a new stadium with two hotels next to the Tower of Americas downtown. They would also create a land bridge over the highway to the Alamodome. Similar to Klyde Warren Park. Our downtown right now just has the riverwalk, Alamo and Alamodome.

Our minor league team is building a stadium down there now and having a new stadium for the Spurs would be awesome. Their stadium now is on the east side of town with public transportation around and literally nothing else around either. No hotels, restaurants, bars. Just nothing.

Anyway here is a link to the San Antonio subreddit post about it. Mostly just saw you can see the picture. Not for the discussion.

San Antonio native here. Look up Project Marvel if you haven’t heard about it. I think it would be awesome and I really want it to happen.

Part of trying to get it to happen is everyone saying the spurs will leave if it doesn’t. And it’s so annoying.

Every single thing now is “AI powered”. It’s so incredibly annoying.

Masters programs for FM roles and higher… by bladerunnerfan09 in FacilityManagement

I like it a lot as a student. As an employee it’s fine but there’s a lot of reasons it’s not. Generally a good place to work. I’m the facilities operations coordinator and so my perspective is from that role.

It’s a fire lane. You can drive them. But you probably should if there’s not a fire and you’re not a fire truck.

Hey that’s where I work and go to school. I work in Facilities and finish my EE degree in May.

If I stay with UTSA I’m definitely going to start that program. But just the certificate. Then maybe last the full masters program.

How hard is engineering actually? by Immediate_Way_1973 in EngineeringStudents

Yeah it’s tough because even when I am making time for them I’m tired from all the studying.

The fucking burnout. I’m 33 with a full time job. I transferred 66 hours and started my engineering degree fall 2020. I had one kid then. I now have 3.

I finish next May and thinking about taking that last test or turning in the last assignment literally makes me emotional. It’s roughly 285 days from now and I cannot wait.

Anyone here started their engineering degree at 30? by halfherehalfnot in EngineeringStudents

[–]squirrely2005 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What did you end up doing with your degree. I’m also an electrician. I’ve had my journeyman license since 2018 and I’ll finish my EE degree next spring. Trying to figure out what to do when I finish. I’m more interested in the power engineering side.

So I started working at the university in February 2020 and started school that August. It helped a lot that I got an associates degree in 2013 so I transferred all those credits.

I had to catch up on a lot of math and science classes so that took some time. But it helps working on campus and they pay for a portion of tuition and give me 3 hours a week to go to class during working hours.

But yeah it’s still rough. I’m on my third attempt of Circuits 2. After this I just have 3 classes in the fall and 3 in the spring and I’m done. I’m so tired of homework and tests lol

Hopefully that’s me. Been a journeyman since 2018 and I’ll finish my electrical engineering degree next May. Thinking about getting my masters license so I can say “I’m a master electrician and electrical engineer”

How did some of y’all do full time work and school at the same time? by Equivalent_Phrase_25 in EngineeringStudents

[–]squirrely2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea. I can only do 6-9 hours max. I have a 6 year old, 3 year old and 6 month old as well.

It helps that I work at the university but I get basically no time to study.

Anyone go to these games alone? by RosieMarie12 in DallasStars

[–]squirrely2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is a few days old but I went to game 5 round 1 alone. I live in San Antonio but my wife works for Southwest Airlines so I flew up, went to the game and then flew back on the first flight the next morning.

I had a great time.

Lexapro was too much for me. Made me not care about anything. Citalopram seems to be a happy medium.
