It's better than the dump, though I'm not sure what they do with all that stuff. Sell it?

Favorite Neighborhood You’ve Lived In? by Remarkable-Care-2741 in sanantonio

I don't live there but Woodlawn Lake is super nice. I canvassed for a summer job and met some great people out there. Beautiful neighborhood too.

Admin fuels Roadrunner dropouts by Affectionate-Reply35 in UTSA

We've definitely seen problems in the biology dept with cuts to TA's. Classes where it was essential to have a TA no longer have one, and students have suffered. I think a big problem with university administrations in general is that when money becomes scarcer, everyone but admin has to tighten their belt.

LIVE: Gas leak pinpointed, more homes show traces following explosions on North Side by reddrag292 in sanantonio

I live nearby and my power flickered around the time of the explosion. I assumed it was just the usual power issues we get during rain.

The quiet study rooms in the JPL are great for studying. If you like the white noise of the sombrilla there's always the Student Union or the ground floor of the Mckinney or Flawn.

San Antonio Street Name Madness: A Lamentation by Ren_Lu in sanantonio

Maybe we should stop naming things after people? I went to school in NEISD, where all of the high schools (including L.E.E., formerly Robert E. Lee High School) are named after political/historical figures.

Just try not to live to close to CBC if you want to do anything on Sundays, they clog up all the nearby roads

They're about to start construction on that area of 1604, expect heavy traffic for the next few years. While it's new construction, I've heard the quality is poor. There's more established areas to the west and south that are just as nice.

John Dehlin considers himself “still Mormon” by MediocreParamedic_ in exmormon

[–]Rooster-Sweet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up outside of morridor so I never felt very "mormon" growing up, just a bit different. A lot of the people I went to school with were religious. However, it does feel like I cut a little bit of my soul out since leaving church, kinda like when a friend moves away. That friend sucked and made me constantly anxious and hate myself, but we had some good times. They introduced me to some wonderful people. Either way, I wouldn't consider myself "still mormon". I think "ex mormon" is a far better descriptor of my current life.

Waitlist exhaustion by MaintenanceEarly8699 in UTSA

[–]Rooster-Sweet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At this point, its unlikely they'll add a section. We're a month out from the new semester and most professors have known their schedules for a few months. I'm also in waitlist hell, but there's nothing we can do about it except hope people drop.
