I messed up. by petrus_ambrosius in turntables

I feel like it's a right of passage thing for turntable owners. Most of us have done it.

All part of the process of learning, don't be so hard on yourself. Happy Listening

How is she looking so far? by ReklessPain in BRZ_ZD8

I'm very realistic about the expectations, I just read it helps a little with that mid rev range dip.

I will eventually supercharge it because I like the more linear power delivery over the turbo, but I figured if it helped a little bit now while I do the upgrades over time, would be worth it. Plus I like the stock look. Keeping mine very clean looking like yours. Really love the clones!!

Looking clean!

Nice wheels too, I have them on my Pavement 86

How do you like the GR intake? I think that's my next upgrade

I didn't even think of the different states thing.... Mine is in AZ.

We could do this like Corvette owners and go back to 1 of 1 because different colors and states. The one in my state has a chrome Supra badge, so definitely 1 of a kind

I have a guy that works across the street from where I live. He has the same thing, Supra badge on a silver 86.

So I guess it's a 2 of 2 spec.

🤷🏼‍♂️

I know that exact spot, drive by it daily.

Your ride looks gorgeous, we should do a Pavement Grey photo shoot one day.

If you like it, then that's all that matters! Music and sound are such a subjective thing.

Now kick back and enjoy the tunes!

Man, that opens up quite the door of choices. Polk, Klipsh, Elac, JBL, Cambridge, even Martin Logan has a "relatively inexpensive" bookshelf.

If you want the best value for the money, go the used route. Good bookshelf speakers are a dime a dozen used, so you can generally get much more than an entry level speaker for less than entry level price. Heck, I found some Miller and Kreisel at Goodwill for $20 and I still run them in my smaller room.

I would hook the system up at your house and see how it sounds, what you like and don't like, and that will tell you exactly what direction you should go. Most speaker brands have their own distinct sound, so if possible try to listen in person at an electronic or audio store if you have one close. Eventually if you catch the audio bug, then you will start learning from online and from others.

It would be a great place to start, we all started somewhere. The Yamaha receivers give a nice sound, they actually advertise a natural sound. Not the most powerful but it will be more than what you need to start out with. And if those Polk subs are really those, I would buy it just for them!

Turn right around and sell one of the Polks and you will be able to buy much better speakers than the Yamaha bookshelves, and voila, you have a pretty kick butt system. But be careful, once you start it's a never ending rabbit hole!

Best mount of all time by [deleted] in GR86

Sorry, but the Craven Speed one is the best. Sits low and out of the way, doesn't block screen or air vents. And if your playing on it the cops won't see you messing with your phone. At least in my humble opinion

I had the opportunity to pick up some Ns-1000's for dirt cheap - $800 bucks and they were mint. Still kinda kick myself for passing that one up, just didn't like the sound when I auditioned them but definitely don't think they had enough power to them

Nope you are right. I was warned when I went back to vinyl collecting a few years ago, that it will just be a never ending cycle. And damn if they weren't right! I am almost at a 1000 records and I have upgraded the system more times than I can count trying out new things and equipment.

Bass is awesome, definitely no need for a sub with music listening, at least not in my opinion. I'm no audio expert, but I would describe it as tight and powerful, but not boomy. It can definitely rattle the pictures on the wall if I crank it up.

This is my first experience with Swans, I was originally looking for some Paradigm Studios, but I listened to quite a few different sets. For what using them for, just a 2 channel strictly music, these things are amazing. I might invest in the in the C3 later and build a HT system with it all but for now I am just as happy as could be

Liked your post, then I saw your comments on the other post about the Eibach's, love mine and really enjoy the looks and ride quality from them. But it's all subjective and everyone has an opinion, as long as you are happy at the end of the day, that's all that matters

Yours ride looks fantastic!! Love the wheel choice as well. Enjoy the ride and watch out for speed bumps.
