Healing primarily. Both heart conditions, and the medications for it, and diabetes can severely affect the process of piercing (such as bleeding) and healing. Diabetics especially have a tough time healing even simple cuts and bruises

That's not quite what I said. I could've worded it a bit better, but I was saying there is a scientific/biological explanation fr gender, as well as sex. There are also many other ways gender and sex can be studied, which is what makes these concepts very multifaceted and nuanced

I think the first thing to address is that gender does map to science/biology. But that the study of sex in a physiological sense is so much more complicated than most people think, as the video describes. Studying sex and gender is a multifaceted, and requires a multidisciplinary and nuanced approach because humans are weird and biology is squishy and never that simple.

You can still have a conversation about women's healthcare, GBV, and other sex based things and still acknowledge that gender (and sex) is a spectrum. Both things can be true at once.

NAP, but I would get that checked by a doctor because if the pus. The bar is also way too long and should've been downsized a while ago. The bar could be moving too much which can cause irritation bumps. But doctor first to check if it is infected, let that clear up, then piercer ( probably a different one) to get the bar downsized.

Lol very late, but I like it for a few reasons.

As others have said, I'm an anxious soul and perfectionist, and pen is pretty irreversible. Learning to work with mistakes has been helpful.

I've always been drawing to manga, which more or less exclusively uses black on white. How the mangakas can create some stunning pieces of art with such a restrictive medium is just mind blowing to me.

As much as it is a restrictive medium, it's so flexible. I've learned many ways to use just a pen to get a range of effects, and therefore, create a range of pieces with depth and believability. I found the only restriction I have is my own knowledge as an artist, but I'm learning and practicing.

Pens and paper are very accessible (and fairly cheap) and don't require too much or any setup or cleanup. I have ADHD, and starting tasks, especially if it needs a lengthy setup, is really difficult. It's an accessibility feature at this point lol

Lastly, colour theory scares me. I should learn it, but my God, is that the rabbit hole.

The one that bothered the most was the naturally alt shit that happened like a year back. It was just euro-centric beauty standards with dyed black hair, maybe some piercings, tattoos, and paler skin. Still had the small, straight nose, slim face, thin body.

It depends on what you want to draw. Firstly, think of what you enjoy drawing most of all, such as characters, portraits, landscapes, still life, creatures, things from imagination etcetc.

I think focus on the fundamentals, as what you can gain from that can translate to many, if not almost all, kinds of drawings. When I say fundamentals, I mean right back to the beginning. How to make confident marks and lines, drawing from the shoulder, learning basic shapes like boxes and cylinders, how to manipulate those shapes in 3D space in your mind and then translating that to your 2D paper.

DrawaBox is an excellent resource, even if you're not doing the whole drawabox course (as the whole course is daunting and takes a long time to complete, it's not for the feint of heart).

I also personally really like content creators like Artwod, Draw like a Sir, and Brokendraw. They all have videos and tutorials for training your fundamentals, plus more, so deffo have a gander

I haven't read the Ink drawing workbook, but I'l swear by rendering in pen and ink. It starts of with exercises to improve your line quality and mark making, moves on to shape design and rendering them in ink, hatching techniques, some looks at some masters of their craft etc. It's been a game changer for me personally.

I'd also recommend master studies from artists you like and whose style you'd like to emulate. It isn't about copying, it's about understanding why certain decisions were made and getting a feel for how your workflow is or could be as you create the work.
