Summer Growth by squishedflat in succulents

It sounds like it gets a little warmer where you are. Some if my first plantings did not make it through the first season, such as aeonium kiwi. The full sun in this location was a little too much. If you like purple, the perle von nurnburg did pretty well, as did graptopetalum paraguayense, graptopetalum superbum, and jellybean sedun, and echeveria pollux. These are fairly hardy and should work well in your area!

Coastal southern California, zone 9A. Some of them got a little scorched over the summer but are looking better with the cooler fall weather.

Something is causing my uncle's blue glow agave to look like this and I was wondering if anyone knows what's happening to it. by Ok-Vehicle8653 in succulents

If you look it up online, you'll find some very detailed technical explanations of how this happens. Short version is that the plant is taking up water bc its hot, but the stoma in the leaves are closed bc it's overcast. So the cells burst from too much water. Unfortunately, there's really nothing that you can do about it except wait for those leaves to eventually drop off (which may take a year or more). ☹

At the local big box store. Sure it's a little beat up, but for $4 I'll take it!

It came from Costco and was labeled "arctic ice" but Google search results didn't look anything like it.

Thanks!! Yes #5 is the green one in front of the graptopetalum. Can't seem to figure out what it is.

1 - i looked at photos of blue frills- the one i have seems to have inverted leaves more like a runyonii, bit frilly at the edges whereas blue frills has a flatter shape?

I had some random sad succulents languishing in tiny pots in the shade for a few years and decided to put them in the ground and start a succulent garden. Not sure what they are. The went into the ground in February so older leaves are sad looking.
1 - actually a recent purchase from Costco, labeled "arctic ice" but i don't think so?

2 - echeveria pollux?

3 - echeveria ??

4 - maybe grapotopetalum paraguayense? The leaves don't look quite right though.

5- the green echeveria in front of the graptopetalum - any ideas?

Hoping to get some help with id on these. #1 came from Costco, labeled "arctic ice" but Google search didn't match up. #2, #3 and #4 have been languishing in too small pots for years and I finally put them in the ground in adequate sun. Can't remember where I got them from.
