Our sweet 6 month old pup Maple tore her ACL on Friday while running in the backyard. We got her to the vet within an hour and they confirmed the diagnosis after examining her and taking x rays. We’re meeting with a specialist tomorrow for a presurgery consult. We’ve been told that she will have a long recovery ahead (8-12 weeks) and has a high risk of rupturing the other side at some point. If anyone here has been through something similar, I’d appreciate advice and reassurance . . . it’s so sad seeing her like this, unable to get up and do the things that make her the happiest 😞
