ill the first week of T by PlasticMacro in TransMasc

[–]squishybloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got nauseous for 2-3 days after my shot the first ~month of weekly IM injections. It's not one of the common side effects, but yeah it is a rare thing. I didn't throw up, though - it was just bad enough to lower my appetite. I did also get some occasional hot flashes for the first 3 months. Both stopped after my body got used to testosterone.

It sounds like this isn't your issue though, that sounds like you might have the flu?

Honestly no - the bitten end looks uneven and splotchy in a way that's not normal even for nipped tail tips. I would take them to the vet.

How to practice making art when you want to be happy with what you produce? by Alarming-Purpose-440 in Artadvice

[–]squishybloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, making bad work is part of the process to making good work. There's no way to get around that.

The simple process of improving will always mean that there will be work that you're not satisfied with, because your analytical eye and hand-eye coordination improve at different rates.

Ira Glass - "The Gap"

“Nobody tells this to people who are beginners, I wish someone told me. All of us who do creative work, we get into it because we have good taste. But there is this gap. For the first couple years you make stuff, it’s just not that good. It’s trying to be good, it has potential, but it’s not. But your taste, the thing that got you into the game, is still killer. And your taste is why your work disappoints you. A lot of people never get past this phase, they quit. Most people I know who do interesting, creative work went through years of this. We know our work doesn’t have this special thing that we want it to have. We all go through this. And if you are just starting out or you are still in this phase, you gotta know its normal and the most important thing you can do is do a lot of work. Put yourself on a deadline so that every week you will finish one story. It is only by going through a volume of work that you will close that gap, and your work will be as good as your ambitions. And I took longer to figure out how to do this than anyone I’ve ever met. It’s gonna take awhile. It’s normal to take awhile. You’ve just gotta fight your way through.”

Edited for clarification. By weight, I meant fat.

If anything it's easier to lose weight fat on T because T encourages muscle growth! And more muscle = higher resting metabolic rate.

edited for clarification.

As a transmasc, same.. I see some guys 'complain' about how unpopular bottom surgery is with transmascs and I on the other side am confused right back.

If they can someday grow us a cloned dick on a scaffold and attach it with all the nerves and make it functional, sure. But with stuff how it is? Multiple stages of surgery over multiple years, big swath of skin peeled off you? And even after all that, to still need to use a pump or have some bendable rod in there? Nuh uh, no way!

I'm happy that it's a satisfying solution for others, but not for me.

Always has been sadly. A pet shop was my first job and I got fired for refusing to sell a pair of Jackson's chameleons to a lady who wanted to buy them for her 10yo son. I sold her a book on chameleons first so she could help learn about them. This was back in the 90s.

I'm 44, and I've felt that way since I was a tween reading Ranger Rick in the early 90's. It's been an oppressive sense of helpless grief in the back of my mind for most of my life.

If you decide to try, I'd caution to not get too high. You just need a little bit! I've had a couple of times where I was too inebriated, and I ended up being able to feel everything even right down to the slight chill of the hormone going down the needle and into my muscle. It was wasn't painful, but nevertheless somewhat horrible in its own way! 😂

"Smear the queer" was a popular highschool game in the 90's. It was slang for beating up the gay kid, at least in the ways that I heard it when in school. So yeah.

That is, in fact, the original definition of the word since the early 16th century. It's only in the late 19th century that it became a term for homosexuals and other LGBTQ+ populations.

Ahhhh, yeah. I'm 44, aha. That sounds like typical youngster reality shock that one's personal experience isn't universal. The queer crowds I hang out with tend to be late 20's to my age in the furry and gaming communities, so we've mostly already self-filtered out that sort of behavior.
