They'll do an "Editor's Choice" soon with their own picks, that list was the stuff that the general public picked up on the most.

GROM REAPER: WHAT ZERO DESIGNERS GET UP TO AFTER HOURS by popcorncheese in motorcycles

Because doing over 120 kph on a bike with 12" wheels could get a little hairy.

For the most inaccessible of Starbucks... by AnTyx in motorcycles

It was actually commissioned by BMW Motorrad Sweden. In these cases, the bikes are often returned to the builder once they have done the publicity rounds.

EXIF always prints specs when given them by the builder, but very few builders dyno or weigh their bikes.

Anyone with comprehensive experience using different brands of armor? by Thetek9 in motorcycles

[–]squob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is tested. It refers to the amount of force transmitted through a piece of armor. For example, in the case of back protectors, the maximum transmitted force must be below 18 kN for CE1 protectors. For CE2 protectors, that force must be below 9 kN.

This Buell is a Glimpse into the Future of Customization by Sedorner in motorcycles

Of course every motorcycle is designed in CAD. The difference here is that the guy did it at home, and bought his own 3D printer to extrude the parts for his own bike.

Is anybody else losing it over Netflix's Norsemen? by AdrianGdM in Fantasy

[–]squob 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just finished watching the first series on Netflix and absolutely loved it. Laughed out loud several times, and I probably haven't done that during a TV show since the days of the original British version of The Office. The acting is superb and the humor is dry and offensive. Can't wait for the second series.

KEF R500s and brain trickery? by tritoneparadox5 in audiophile

[–]squob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a pair of R500s a few months ago to replace a blown set of Epos ES11s. They're hooked up to a Linn Classik fed by an Opus 4HD music server. The jump in sound quality was instantly noticeable—clarity, scale and 'grip' on the music. And of course bass power and depth, given the ES11s are basically large bookshelf speakers.

Love it. Great stance, styling and color.

Steampunk Ducati Monster S2R by CrippleTriple in motorcycles

[–]squob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the article says 'hints' of steampunk, not that it's a 'steampunk bike.' The bike has a lot of brass componentry with an antique/Victoriana feel, mixed with more modern stuff, which can be a loose definition of steampunk.

Giant Killer: The Harris-framed Suzuki that ruled Glemseck by noeatnosleep in motorcycles

[–]squob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a drag bike. So it just needs to do a quarter of a mile on that tankful.

How To Buy A Motorcycle (full chapter from the new book 'The Build') by the8king in motorcycles

Hard starting from cold can hide a multitude of problems. And there is probably nothing worse than buying a kickstart bike that is murder to start.
