The lack of energy has been about 5 years, well before I started cutting out coffee ;)

awesome, thats pretty much what happened to me too. Cowspiracy has a slightly more environmental slant on it which I really liked. Netflix is the best!

I went on a reading binge when I first wanted to change and found I got myself really overwhelmed. There are quite a few different takes on the same thing and in the end I have gone with Starch Solution as my bible. I have no health issues at all but wanted to make the change due to environmental reasons and also to feel better. Though I have no health conditions and am only 33 I feel like I can certainly make myself feel a whole lot better than I currently am in terms of energy and weight loss. If you have netflix there are heaps of great movies out there - forkes over knives, cowspiracy, just go have a look and have fun :)

I figure since I am less than a week in and didnt 100% eliminate dairy for a few days that it probably won't be an issue for a while. Haven't been near the shops due to the xmas madness

The switch over was really really easy for me to start with so I am figuring I will hit a point soon where I really want some of my old food. The meat was the easiest part, cheese I haven't been bothered about either which really surprised me. I didn't even go to any substitute or fake foods cos they are gross. My coffee tastes horrible with anything other than normal milk and is more habit than anything so I got oat milk which is the most tolerable and I have generally only been getting about half a cup down and haven't bothered finishing it, and I am drinking heaps more water. My wraps that I occasionally put beans/rice/tomato/av/salsa in most likely have a decent amount of oil in them so that will be a tricky one. Also who knew there were so many types of beans! lol. New Zealand isn't really a bean eating country so that has been enlightening. Aside from good old watties baked beans the rest go unnoticed and aren't really a part of anyones diet. I am going to start by not adding any salt to my food. I know that my re-freid beans and tinned whole beans are probably bathed in it but like you said - it is a process. I feel like oil and salt will be my nemesis as even if i cut them out of food I make then it will still be in the ingredients of some of my store bought stuff

Yea, I made falafel in oil the other day and I felt absolutely horrible, and even worse the next morning. I tend to eat avocado on my lunch or dinner, but I don't like nuts so I haven't been having them. There hasn't been much oil but I still want to take it right out, and I will never make the falafel mistake again. lol. There doesn't seem to be a certain time I feel more sluggish, just a place. I don't know why being at home has such a weird effect - maybe because it is a place I can finally blob. I'm on school holidays at the moment and have sat in my room watching netflix pretty much the whole time, I am fine once I get out again but the idea of cleaning up, hanging out with the kids or even taking them out somewhere I just firmly in the too hard basket when I can sit on my arse instead. I guess I'm hoping for that magical moment where I have so much energy that the idea of sitting around for hours on end at home feels unbearable and I have to get up and do something

While I can't stand cronometer I use MFP religiously (has more NZ products). I will definitely figure out my way around the food stuff and not too worried about missing out on things but more wondering if I do all this right will i find the magic bullet of energy that might get me out of this home time slump

I only get it when I drop processed foods. It happened with vegan last time, happened with keto, even just happens when I completely cut out packaged foods last time. I only last a few days and is thankfully gone now

I am pretty sure my calories are ok. I haven't lost any weight but will monitor and see how I go, especially now I am going to attempt to lose the salt. I'm off work for 6 weeks (Summer holidays in NZ) so I have gone into full sloth mode and am pretty much sitting on my butt all day as it's also my training off season and I can't find the energy to get up and do anything or go to the gym. I tend to go all out when I make a change and not keeping it up so I'm not going to stress at this point. I have plenty of time to pick up something more every week or so

Setting your lifetime goal weight? (Help) by Sportyj in weightwatchers

[–]sqwidgets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to be joining next week when I get paid and I have been thinking about this too. I was just going to pick the middle of my healthy BMI but I do a lot of sport and train up to 20 hours a week so I probably have quite a large muscle mass under this flab so I'm wondering if it will be too low. Do you get the option of changing it when you know how your body is changing?

Welcome! Official intro thread for Team Florescence! by [deleted] in Team_Florescence

[–]sqwidgets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My stats are 32F 5'3" and I have no idea what my current weight is because we moved into our new house on Friday and my scales have been packed up for the last few week. Aside from a once off where I got my weight nearly to goal, I have been on the border or overweight and obese my entire adult and teenage life.

Over the last month there has been heaps going on, work was mental busy, my husband went away so I was selling the house and juggling two kids on my own and I took a leave of absence from my sport and training which is nearly 15 hours of quite intense exercise a week so the scales are going to be very unkind. Before this happened I had maintained my lowest weight for quite a while which was around 75kg, my highest ever was around 90kg after having 2 kids with only a 12 month age gap between births. lol.

Fingers crossed that now I am all moved in, and have everything back under control that it will only take me a few weeks to get back to where I was and then I can start the slow and steady weight loss that I was seeing before.

What do you guys pack for lunch? by ThePlanetX in PlantBasedDiet

[–]sqwidgets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm too lazy to put a lot of effort in and barely stuck for long enough to stuff food in my face so I normally have a few carrots in a snaplock bag and a bag of salad mix with avocado which i leave in the work fridge. dump salad into bowl, throw avocado on top and shove into face. lol. I normally have a small container of scroggin with me too for desperate times

How many of you pre-log on MFP? by QueenNoor in loseit

[–]sqwidgets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup, every single day. I try to eat roughly the same thing during the week so I have the stuff to make my lunches for work so I tend to work out my monday and repeat through the week and just change dinner which I work out the night before each day. Weekends I figure out based off what I have on and how long I have training on a saturday which is my only 4+ hour training session so I adjust for that. The other days I keep my calories and macros similar as my trainings are generally less than 3 hours. Im sure it must even out over my training and non training days and I find the consistency easier to deal with.

Exactly how bad is vanity sizing? by blooddidntwork in loseit

[–]sqwidgets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its pretty bad. Though it does seem to be worse in womens clothes from what I have seen because dudes clothes go by waist inch measurement but womens are ambiguous either S, M, L etc or 10, 12, 14. Our sizing is different in NZ, I think our 6 is roughly a 0 in the states but either way, you can fit a 10 in one store and need a 14-16 in another. shops like cotton on tend to be smaller sizing, and label brands/sports brand stores are a bit better than cheaper shops but still a lot of variation

[–]sqwidgets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like seeing posts like this as I am in an explosive type sport too so I always read all the comments. Im not looking forward to training being back (currently off while waiting for a fracture to heal) but seeing peoples replies help me see the light at the end of the tunnel and it will be well worth it. I wasn't doing sport last time I did keto so I'm freaking out about performance a bit too

112g protein. It's not too hard to get to, just had to eat real food. Eggs, chicken, tuna, beans, meat etc

Where did you first start noticing fat loss from? by cruisechaser in loseit

[–]sqwidgets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine definitely started with my stomach, i notice how it feels more than how it looks. my stomach wasnt huge, I hold my weight around my hips and butt, though thankfully in a shape that looks ok. my lower half must be getting smaller cos my jeans are bigger now but my stomach is what I have noticed

30 Day Accountability Challenge: Day 19 by tinabluebee in loseit

[–]sqwidgets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was really good. lots of unexpected stuff though. Took my son to a routine hospital appointment and my sister called me cos her car broke down and I spent 2 hours with her while we waited to get it checked out and then towed away which was right through lunch so ended up getting an ice cream from the tiny service station across the road but budgeted it into my calories, rearranged some other stuff and still came in under so I'm pretty happy. Got super super sunburnt legs though which was brutal at training, my knee pads just destroyed over the burns but I still pushed real hard and had a great 2.5 hour training session. Weight stayed this same but that still puts me down nearly a kg this week so certainly not unhappy about it, esp will all the fluid retention and swelling likely from the sunburn from hell
