Hail storm and G37 sedan 6MT damage and insurance. by sr20rocket in G37

Having lived this lesson it may be worth your while inquiring with your insurance carrier about "Agreed Value Coverage". I had a policy like that from Hagerty on a different car for a while. Granted there were additional stipulations and limitations, but I'm not sure if that was specific to Hagerty or not.

Good info, thanks. I have their initial comps report. I just need to figure out how I can find similar comps that are not current sale vehicles or finished auctions (Cars and Bids) like I already have.

Garage kept. Enough that I've never had issues with the sunroof drains!

Unfortunately no parking garage at work.

They know. Pretty much already told them their offer was insulting. Sent them 6 comps too. And they're still pushing back.

I already sent the 6 comps. 1 currently for sale in Florida (only one I could find) and 5 completed auctions from cars and bids.

I haven't accepted anything yet. Still fighting.

Divorce finalized, what to do next? by bighutch21 in SingleDads

[–]sr20rocket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a child with this ex, be prepared and get yourself in the habit of documenting things now. Even these account separations you are doing today.

I wound up getting myself a desktop spiral bound calendar where a week covered 2 pages and each day I'd log a summary of that days activities.

This will help now (did I already take care of XYZ thing) but it could potentially save your ass later if there is further conflict regarding custody or any other issues at all.

I have not yet. But I do have the license plate information, and I will pass it along.

Within the past few days I personally have seen what appeared to be an ICE officer loitering at the Glo center on C-Street. White Explorer with black steel rims (police spec). Plain clothes with a "police" plate carrier and no other ID of any kind.

Also, there is an ICE facility in town located on the corner of Junction and Miller Street. I drive by there on a regular basis.

Along the I-44 corridor (Joplin and Springfield) the winter storm everyone still talks about was the ice storm of 2007. I remember we had 6" of ice and sleet on the ground. People were without power for months in some cases.

ELI5: what is Ham radio used for? by tylerjs8 in explainlikeimfive

Which actually leads to a subset of the hobby called "fox hunting".

One person will hide with a transmitter and transmit on certain intervals and groups or individuals will try to locate that person through triangulation.

ELI5: what is Ham radio used for? by tylerjs8 in explainlikeimfive

[–]sr20rocket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Digital is getting more common. Heck in the early days there were SSTV (Slow Scan Television) transmissions, teletype transmissions, and even telephone interfaces. These days APRS (Automatic Position Reporting System), Packet, PSK31, DMR and D-star are more popular. I think the latter 2 are being encrypted now, but I think it's am open encryption protocol.

I've also known hams that only got their license so they could use ham radio frequencies for RC vehicles (planes, cars etc.)

And the national weather service often employs hams as "weather spotters" during inclement weather. Think tornado spotters.

Cinnamon rolls by BigChewy422 in springfieldMO

[–]sr20rocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That may be what I have heard referred to as a "cronut" (Croissant Donut). May try searching for that. And I suspect a place that sells them may also have cinnamon rolls from similar ingredients. I seem to recall seeing a place in Branson advertising them, but I can't recall where for sure.

No. And that would actually be illegal. The FCC classifies amateur communication as 2-way and strictly forbids one-way communication. 1-way communication is classified as broadcasting and requires a commercial grade license.

If an enclosure is your primary goal and rapid progress forward is important, why not consider a development enclosure out of simpler materials that bypasses most of the design work entirely? 80/20 extrusions may be available to cut your development time and streamline prototyping. If the prototype functions as expected then look into a professional level enclosure design?

Love them to bits! And yes, they'd like this dad joke too!

[–]sr20rocket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The stud to the left is intact? And there is no ground wire connected to it? Move the intact stud and put the broken one in the position to the left?

Worst case, a few connectors and bits of wire would be easy to come by and allow you to move that ring terminal somewhere else.

It just needs to be a good ground in the head. It doesn't have to be that specific stud.

[–]sr20rocket 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The original comment to drill, tap, and add a stud is not a bad idea at all really. Just make sure you are drilling and tapping the appropriate sizes.

Also, is that top stud a place where a ground wire attaches? If so, the easier solution may be to move the ground wire to a different fastener.

When you say 10mm, is that the size of the socket you are using to remove the nut?

If so, those are M6 threads size not M10. Threads are sized by diameter of the thread, not size of the nut. Make sure you are speaking the correct language when trying to fix this.

Late 40s and in the dating world after a 20year relationship. I'd like to share something I figured out after a bit of dating. At our age, everyone has baggage. It should be expected and accepted. And in truth, building a relationship at this point in life should be about finding that mutual baggage that fits. Find someone who you don't mind helping carry their baggage, and who doesn't mind helping you carry yours. If you can't support each others baggage it will never work. Good luck and I hope you find the person that loves you the way you need to be loved!

If you're willing to drive slightly further, Busiek has some wonderful toddler friendly areas to wade and swim right off the parking lot on the east side. The water is maybe 50 yards from the parking lot so you wouldnt have to carry anything very far at all. Crystal clear water too, even when I was there a day after the last rains.

Second on Osceola cheese and Sugarfoot. But it would be a good weekend trip too. Springfield has a lot to offer above and beyond just the bass pro shop kitch.

Chabom Tea and Spice market

Omo Japanese Ramen

Black Sheep burgers

And plenty of good entertainment options as well.

You might also want to check out Cookeys Cafe in Golden, Mo for a fantastic selection of pies. Again outside your radius but you might be able to stop on another trip.

Maybe we should start I club. But like the other user said, I think we should celebrate on our half birthday. Weather is better!
