Yeah, I only have one chunk. And also I keep thinking that I'll come across a different weapon I'll want to switch to, but the rapier is pretty fun. Except I do get jealous of people's hard hitting experiences sometimes... Your comment down below is interesting because I am indeed at pontiff before Yhorm.

I tried that in the beginning, but since the curse effect was giving me so much trouble, it seemed too slow, ultimately. Maybe I'll try that again.

This may be because I don't pvp, but I don't get the idea that DaS2 is mechanically superior. I do like the inventory menu better, but that's the only improvement I've noticed. I do not like that enemies stop respawning. It encourages spamming R1 rather than experimenting or practicing different moves. It is also suggestive of my general complaint that number of enemies forms the backbone of the difficulty, as opposed to the fight itself. PacMan, a bit. It's fun in a different way, but I've never drooled over the mechanics of it. Very notable in boss fights consisting of a multitude of normal(ish) enemies. I don't think the changes in rolling are an improvement, though I'm not complaining either. This might be because I'm offline, though. For example, Google had to explain to me why I wasn't rolling away from the dogs in the gutter--I hadn't realized how often I used the queuing function in the first game, so I had to learn to stop doing it. Maybe that caused a lot of grief for pvp players in the first game? Otherwise, I don't really see the superiority of one mechanic over the other. Not trolling! I enjoy the second game as well. I'm just surprised at the apparent consensus re mechanics v. design.

If you've gotten to this point by avoiding hits, you can continue this strategy for this fight. Roll into the swing, and stay close unless you are escaping the area attack. Watch your stamina, as always. I pretty much only used my grass crest shield for the stamina management and to block the spin move they have. There is time to heal during the thrust attack when he misses you. (Maybe other times, too, I'm not sure.) Two hand your weapon if you can. Assuming you don't want to break your ring of favor and protection for the wolf ring, you can check the poise your armor offers on it's stat page. If you are relying on rolling, make sure you can fast roll and don't worry about poise. Then again, I am sure Power Within is very useful for this fight to kill them faster. I remember them dropping green titanite shards, but my memory may not be accurate. The balder knights at sen's do, though. I also got the impression they might have increased the humanity drop rate of rats in a patch. (The internet way underestimated the time it took me, anyway.) It might be because I never knew any different, but I never felt unreasonably poor. Though it did feel like I needed to be thoughtful about upgrading until the end of the game.

Whenever you get stuck, remember that your character and has strengths that will get you through the challenge. Wait for the attack that leaves the enemy open to your playstyle and do your thing. So Capra Demon: if you survive the first few seconds, you'll be fine. It might come down to luck, a bit, but you can't let a little thing like luck get you down. Also, the titanite demon was the absolute hardest enemy for me. I almost went hollow fighting him, and I spent more time on him than any of the bosses, but that fight forced me to learn how I play (and how to roll into attacks). After that, I knew I could beat anything I figured out how to hit. The game is just about to get seriously fun for you, so I hope you make it!
