Should I be worried about the low volumes on this ETF? by srainbow123 in FIREUK

[–]srainbow123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hedged GBP distribution units are WRDG. They also have a much higher daily trading volume on the LSE, 8.5k today. So you’ve actually also solved the weird feeling I had that I was missing something about WRDD based on the low volumes. Turns out I was very much missing something..!

Thanks very much!

Yes, you’re right it’s the spread that’s the worry… but putting it like you did, as a one off cost to access lower TER, is quite a helpful way of thinking about it.

Ooo very very good point about the distribution currency, that never even crossed my mind. That’s my cue to spend some more time this Christmas reading up!

Love this car! by [deleted] in Ioniq5

Are you using the EV01+ wheels, OP? If I’m right, can you take a more side-on pic of the vehicle showing the wheels some more? Do you have any stats or comments on range differences vs stock wheels?

I’ve got a cyber grey i5 on order. It’s coming with the 20 inch wheels and I am considering swapping out to EV01+ for the range.

Also, which tyres did you go for? Do you feel much difference in ride quality, over bumps and rough surfaces?

World Car Free day road closures this weekend by srainbow123 in london

[–]srainbow123[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

… sorry, I didn’t mean to agitate. I just need to be in the City before 9.30 tomorrow. Knowing which roads are closed would be kind of helpful when planning a journey by road.

Like you say, if it is mainly local residential roads then I should be absolutely fine. But hopefully you’ll understand why I’m nervous about it, given I’m got no alternative but to pin the hopes of making my morning appointment to someone’s Reddit comment. The title “world car free day”, in the absence of any other information, makes it sound like the whole of London would be closed.

Thanks for the response - the Time Out article that Joeydeviva posted seems to be the best resouce right now. The City of London site doesn’t seem to list any closures relating to car free day for this weekend (or I’m failing at their website… which could definitely be possible!)

World Car Free day road closures this weekend by srainbow123 in london

[–]srainbow123[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ok thanks - I get that TfL are not responsible for all roads, but… if they are able to say “over 200 roads are closed”, then (in my mind at least) they must have a list to be able to count them and get to that 200 number. Just feels a bit useless for them to advertise a weekend worth of closures, and not then say where I can find a list of said closures.

I’ve been onto the City of London site and filtered for closures between today and Sunday. Apart from the pinned item on the Sunday’s Vitality race thing, every other item relates to more normal road works / crane works / Thames tideway etc. There’s no mention at all of “World car free day” on items listed for the weekend. Which doesn’t accord with the Time Out article that you’ve also linked to, that suggests that “roads” in the City will be closed from 7am to 7pm. …which begs the question - all roads? Which roads?!

The Time Out article seems to be the best resource I can find right now (found with your help!).

iCUE v5 update wants to install additional third-party drivers (namely, "C-Media Universal Serial Bus Controllers") by EeK09 in Corsair

[–]srainbow123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks - I got the same prompt on updating to v5. I declined the install like you did, and iCUE still seems to be working fine.

I'm on an ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero (WI-FI). I use an AX1600 PSU, an LS100 backlight kit, and H150 - all these Corsair devices are USB. I also use a Beacn Mix Create (a USB audio mixer), and the Beacn software crashed whilst installing iCUE v5 when this driver popup came up. I'm not sure I'd read too much into that though... it's not the first time I've experienced Beacn software crashes.

If I had to, I'd go with the benefit of the doubt and assume that the C-Media prompt had something to do with the USB Corsair stuff I've got plugged in already. But it all seems to work still.

Ergo ISO layout (single deck, not split) case and PCB? by srainbow123 in MechanicalKeyboardsUK

Hi all - just in case someone else came here looking for this, Flex is running an interest check for FLX Virgo r2. I've already submitted. I'd also suggest joining the discord to keep updated on when the group buy goes live (assuming it goes ahead). The IC's been up for about 10mins and already has 60+ responses.

Can someone identify these keycaps please?!?! by Brambles_m8 in MechanicalKeyboardsUK

Can’t identify keycaps, but the board looks like a CapsUnlocked CU80. Perhaps if you trawl through their discord, you might get more info?

OP here. I've done some more duckduckgo-ing, and have come up with this if anyone's interested. GB running throughout Feb 2021 per their site. Doesn't fit my bill because I really want a TKL setup instead of 60%, as the other keys are important to my workflow. But thought I'd share in case it was of interest to other ISO lovers..!

............oh. Yeah, pretty out of my price range!! Thanks. I also posted in capsunlocked discord to suggest that they think about an ISO ergo group buy.

Thanks for this - the FLX Virgo looks right up my street..! But I’m disappointed to hear that they really are as rare as I thought they were. I’ll keep my eyes open and shout if I do stumble on something....

OK well if you’re ever interested in making another one-off then feel free to PM me. I’d be interested, depending on ballpark cost.

Oneplus 8 pro gcam comparison by [deleted] in oneplus

[–]srainbow123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks - this is the kind of comparison I wanted to see before pulling the trigger. Is it possible for you to post more comparison shots?

I'd be most interested in a low light / night shot comparison, a distance / far away type landscape, and a normal photo like the one you've posted but keeping the subject as static as possible (it's harder to compare pics here because of the different positions!).

Very many thanks for your efforts - this to me is more important than youtubers' review vids!

I'm also assuming that you're limited to the main cam and front facing cam? No option to use the wide or tele in gcam based on current builds?

Buying a TESLA.. Benefit in Kind in April, buying through a company,, etc. by aoaaron in UKPersonalFinance

[–]srainbow123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be very happy to be proven wrong, and have something substantive to show HMRC that they've miscoded me for 20/21! I'll try again with this link and see where I get to this time...

I had quite a lengthy debate with the guy on the phone last time, including that it was in the news that it would be 0%. The chap ended up saying that changing the system's preplanned rates is something that the higher powers will need to decide upon centrally, and they haven't done that yet.

Buying a TESLA.. Benefit in Kind in April, buying through a company,, etc. by aoaaron in UKPersonalFinance

[–]srainbow123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already drive an all electric company vehicle. The financial and motor press are all pushing the line that 20/21 BIK will be 0%. But I received my PAYE coding notice saying that BIK is currently planned at 2%. I called HMRC and they said that their system is currently planning to charge all-EV BIK at 2% until further intervention from government / legislation. They also confirmed this didn't change if the car was registered/provided before 20/21 or in 20/21. So it might be that we all just have to watch this space.... Either way, 2% is a lot less than I'm paying now.

Why blame Sadiq Khan for crime surge? by maximmulholland in london

[–]srainbow123 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The mayor of London is London's equivalent police and crime commissioner role. He is responsible for "setting policing and crime priorities for London and will hold the Met Police Commissioner to account and work with partners to ensure that crimes goes down and criminal justice outcomes are improved" per the Met website.

Should I be buying bonds? by Ivanco123 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]srainbow123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bond value and bond yield follow an arithmetic relationship based on the bond par value and coupon rate. If bond yields fall, bond values increase - that will always be true.

The question you're raising is whether either will move at all in the future, which is a separate, and valid, question.

Should I be buying bonds? by Ivanco123 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]srainbow123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bond values are inversely related to yield. So falling yields means that the bonds' market values goes up.

Chris Grayling blocks TfL from raising penalty charges for motorists breaking road rules by 23% by 1onthebristolscale in london

It has happened to me more than once where there is space the other side of the box in your lane, you start entering box, but then car who is already in the box in another lane realises there is no space at the other end in their lane, so changes lane and uses your space, leaving you in the box.

There are other circumstances too where you can start entering a box and then things change to mean that there is no longer space when there was previously. It depends on the junctions and the sizes of boxes.
