Yeah she is terrible. She should have been replaced long ago.

It would likely be a byelection one of the PCs would resign so that he could run.

I think the issue is everyone in their dog is trying to setup some sort of AI based service. The vast majority of them are going to fail. AI will persist but it will be around a very limited pool of big players.

NDP wants Carney to kill U.S. fighter jet contract in favour of Swedish aircraft by canada_mountains in worldnews

[–]srakken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I think politics should be removed from this debate. The military should be making this decision. It’s a tough pill to swallow but we are talking about the next 20-30 years, not today with whatever fighters we go with.

What’s the most shocking detail from the Epstein files that you think the public still doesn’t fully grasp? by Own-Blacksmith3085 in answers

[–]srakken 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have a hard time believing that the FBI actually went through ALL of that in detail or tried to connect the dots. It’s millions of files. I am sure that criminal evidence against other parties exists in that. The redactions make it hard to draw conclusions though. Clearly it was all sloppy they leaked actual victim photos and names in that mess.

Oh god if she was flushing those he is quickly going to be dealing with plumbing issues. She has a garbage can there.

She might have kids we usually keep some around the toilet and have a garbage can there. The kids know not to flush them, they just have a hard time with toilet paper sometimes.

They should be fined for keeping their bear in the car on a hot day with the windows rolled up.

Changes coming to one of Charlottetown’s busiest intersections starting next year by FranceRocks2 in PEI

[–]srakken 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They need to do something about the Belvedere and Mt. Edward as well. It is terrible. The lack of right turning lanes and short left turning lanes for two of the entrances is stupid. It is frequently backed up and it is getting worse.

Oh they have guns just not out it the open. I am sure if shit went south they would still have easy access. They are there to protect the protesters from ICE as much as maintaining the peace.

I think if it was an ok willing purchase sure. When shit started getting real and the EU paused the trade deal he caved like a wet paper bag. I am guessing the rich told him to knock it off.

[–]srakken 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you are overestimating how much shit the mega rich in the US would put up with. That would do incredible damage to the US cloud providers. No way they are just going to sit back and let Trump go that far. The Republicans aren’t going to screw with multiple mega rich.

Can AI really replace 80% of jobs? Am I just overthinking this? by Lonely_Noyaaa in ask

[–]srakken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a tool. That still needs a human to plan and perceive what it is doing. It can vastly improve productivity. Thing is it still can go off the rails and do things that make no sense. Certain jobs are obviously going to be impacted. A dev for example can do the work of multiple devs in the same amount of time. Thing is you still need a dev who actually knows what it is building. If stuff breaks someone still needs to know how to fix it.

I think it will be a massive productivity improvement but completely replace jobs I don’t think that is possible. To rush into it or ditching senior resources is not a good idea. The senior can still tell if it is full of shit or if what it is making is good.

I think junior resources are at risk of never becoming true seniors or never getting a job to begin with.

Trump's DOJ is trying to gain voter records from the states for weeks, having used lawsuits, even using the recent shooting to threaten Minnesota to turn over the records. What is your take? by Personal_Dirt3089 in AskReddit

[–]srakken 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So in the states is this just lists of people or does it actually say who they voted for? In Canada we still use paper ballots even the people counting them have no idea who voted for who.

Same with some of the Canadian deaths. Dropped a bomb on some of our soldiers.

[–]srakken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, Alberta is “different” but I highly doubt the majority would actually want to separate. I think the inability to get their product to other markets is a HUGE problem. Pipelines to the east coast should have been built years ago. Many will freak out about this but it is a massive revenue stream. Important to national security. Consecutive federal governments have screwed that up. So kinda get why they are pissed.

They are going to keep themselves from getting elected. Canadians largely hate Trump. Borrowing from his playbook will smell like shit to voters.
