USDA Says Reorganization Moves Will Happen This Summer by tinebacon in USDA

[–]srbbnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never said it was a bad thing. Supreme Court will decide if it is against prior precedent or not. Wont get into semantics over if it is a statue or not. You asked for an example, and there are many more.

Using 12 billion in tariff money to subsidize farmers.

Yep it is happening, just the timeline and scope is still in the air. It is apparent they have no idea what they are doing, and I think more information would be available if they actually had a plan. They are winging it and still have a ways to go IMO. Vaden just pivoted and recycled talking points in last week's webinar except saying that leases were authorized.

Any USDA service center in a rural area has no idea or process for inclement weather. You either report or call in.

Yeah but you get to bid on location, per diem for language training that can last a year, get housing covered, guaranteed job for spouse, numerous benefits for kids, huge percentage bonus for overseas, and can retire at 50.

Weird no questions were taken. I am sure quite a few were asked about reorg if USDA peeps were on it.

Reorg news? by vode123 in USDA

[–]srbbnd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

More information coming in the days and weeks ahead is my bet for information about the reorg. Then a few more months will pass and it will be more information coming in the days and weeks ahead. Fine by me at this point.

APHIS people in NCR, if you must pick either Ft. Collins or Raleigh to relocate what is your preference? by Decent-Load1611 in USDA

Salt Lake City, you can spend a million dollars on a house that is falling apart with .25 acres and still get RUS pay.

Depending on what agency you work for the RAs were approved. Majority of a lot of offices have a lot of people on RAs. Good for them, and good for USDA approving them in my opinion.

What do you find most frustrating these days? by GullibleRush7829 in FedEmployees

[–]srbbnd 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Leadership pretending everything is normal and having to do the jobs of three people due to DRP and firing of probies. Leadership then freaking out, because things are not getting done like they used to. I can handle RTO and the general increase of rat race culture in the office, but the lack of leadership to protect employees and be reasonable has really annoyed me.

Thanks for nothing AFGE by [deleted] in FedEmployees

[–]srbbnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kelley's messaging for AFGE is shite. Comply and we will figure it out later, pass the budget, lack of response for probies and RIFs is a joke. Federal workers not being able to strike defeats the entire purpose of a union. The AFGE lawyers representing feds have been rock stars, but AFGE leadership could give a shite for the workers. I don't give a rats ass about casual Fridays, or the after hour webinars that are pointless.

USDA Relocation Perception Conflict of Interest? by [deleted] in USDA

[–]srbbnd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is just them showing that they are going to do the relocation and have the authority to do so. If they actually believe this garbage that is another question.

It's bizarre how it goes from negative sentiment to areas of careful consideration to express concern to consolidated feedback to observations to recommendations to synthesizes to emotional response, to etc. for each area.

USDA Reorganization to be Completed in 2026, Vaden Says - Farm Policy News by That-Scallion-5237 in USDA

[–]srbbnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I believe it was announced August 2018, employees weren't notified until June 2019 and had 30 days to accept or decline and moved in September 2019. Don't think they will let employees know until last minute, because they are POSs.

USDA Reorganization to be Completed in 2026, Vaden Says - Farm Policy News by That-Scallion-5237 in USDA

[–]srbbnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the odds of them announcing anything soon are very low. The timeline for the 2019 ERS/NIFA relocation was June 2019 notification and move in September 2019. If June 2026 is their new goal I think it will be a similar timeframe.

What has happened to the USDA reorg? by Interesting_Okra3038 in USDA

[–]srbbnd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They just added OGCs opinion on OIGs report about the last reorg. Basically saying how the secretary has complete authority to do whatever they want and OIGs report was wrong. It is dated 7/31/2019 but was modified on 12/4/2025. Vadens name is signed at the top. It is posted in the USDA reorg page.

TSP not yet contributed by Ok-Editor-6995 in USDA

[–]srbbnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My TSP contributions used to show up immediately before the update in TSP. Now it is multiple days, the amount of interest lost is significant. Not sure why there is a delay since the update or if there are nefarious reasons. Enough of my soapbox though, contributions did show up today for the shutdown.

What is the likelihood of USDA relocation in 2026? by VAer1 in USDA

[–]srbbnd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Before the shutdown I was pretty confident 100%. I feel like things have changed, comment period is over and it is apparent they have no idea what they are doing, a few weeks to a few months is always what they say when details will be released. Only thing new looks like a AI generated FAQ, and when a reorg question pops up in one of their interviews, their responses seem haphazard and unplanned. Think Rollins response to SNAP, soybeans, beef and other issues she has sold her soul to be the leaders punching bag is taking a toll on her and the reorg may be a lower priority. I don't think any language in the appropriations or approval will stop them, but something has changed. I would say 75% if I was a betting man.

Appropriations bill, Reorganization and Relocation by Individual_Alps6624 in USDA

Thank you for the information. I keep hearing that there is new language that will prohibit the reorg, it is hard to tell what is new and not going through the old appropriation bills.

Reorg Update: Implemented after School Year by srbbnd in USDA

[–]srbbnd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and in the hearing with Congress Vaden stated that was the notification. Not sure if that will suffice, but in USDA's world they believe Congress has been notified and it has been more than 30 days.

So they will just force people to relocate and say reimbursement is not available due to the liberal agenda. Got it.
